Rick responded promptly to my call for an estimate. He described his approach to the job in exactly the way my husband had envisioned it and he was the only one who didn't tell me he'd have to bring a crew out to get it done. Score! I knew I'd found my guy! He scheduled the work promptly and showed up as planned. It was wicked hot and windy that day. I was concerned about the heat and suggested that we reschedule. Rick insisted that he'd be done before the high heat of the day and wanted to continue.
He carefully removed the old, brittle roof tiles and set them aside to reinstall; removed the dry rotted ship lap and fascia; replaced the ship lap; put new tar paper over the affected roof area and reset the roof tiles. The new fascia was a bit of a challenge because the new standard 2 x 10 was a different size than the 20 year old 2 x 10 that we removed! This took some mitre saw magic to blend it into the mating boards at both ends. Rick did a great job making it work and making it look like it had always been there.
He caulked everything in and repainted it to match the existing trim. Great job at a great price and all within the same business week as my initial call. I was also pleased that he cleaned up so carefully and hauled all the trash away. I'll call Rick first the next time I have a job to hire out.
