It went very well overall. I placed initial call on Wednesday afternoon and their first available was 5 days later on a Monday. I received a call the next day that they had a cancellation and could fit me in. John came out and diagnosed the issue for which he had to have a part delievered. Next day (Friday) he was back at 11am and put in the new parts and it was working! The house is cozy once again. My crawlspace furnace is especially difficult to access given it's position near some plumbing and underground framing (I didn't put it there!) but he handled it just fine.

The price seemed fair. I doubt it was rock bottom pricing but he came out in relatively short notice (especially considering its the start of cold weather season) and he seemed knowledgable to get it fixed right the first time and in many cases the extra cost for that level of expertise pays for itself. The faulty parts were pretty small (don't know how much they cost) and I estimate he spent a total 2 hours of labor over two separate visits.

Pilot switch replaced in the furnace and price paid too high in my opinion.
Response from ALL WEATHER

"The system is over 30 yrs old. For safety reasons, we always give a replacement estimate as well as a cost to repair a heater that old. The customer please purchase a carbon monoxide detector if you don't already have one. To get the pilot switch for that heater it took two trips and they are not cheap."

I like that, when I call them they respond immediately. I like that they are very fair; when I called they have been coming and checking the heater. They didn't charge me; they just did a follow up because I wasn't sure if they needed to come in and adjust it or anything like that. The guy going to deal with it knew and checked it that we don't need anything; so he didn't charge me for my service call or anything because he didn't have to do anything. I really liked that company. They've installed a heater and a tank less top water heater for me. I think their prices were very fair. I really like these guys and I will use their service in the future.

We are neophytes when it comes to who to turn to when things go wrong, as well as determining what kind of company to contact. During the 30 degree cold spell our 49 year-old furnace fan would not turn on, and we were 'cold'. We knew we would need someone who was familiar with older heating systems and because of our limited means, we hoped we could find someone who would be able to fix our fan. After looking through the listings I called All Weather. From the onset in speaking with Jim Fenter, I just 'knew' we were on the right path. Not only was he a good listener, taking his time, asking questions to isolate what might be the problem. He was kind, and immediately I felt him to be sincerely a good person, and trustworthy. As he had appointments booked a week forward, He said unless they had a break and were in the area, (which they did do but I was out). I scheduled a service call. I would be seeing Robert, who was familiar as well, with older heating systems. For us it was fine to wait, because we felt we were in the best of hands. On the day of our appointment Robert called and asked if he could stop by an hour earlier than we had scheduled, which worked out perfectly for me. Robert went straight for the fan, checked it out completely and determined the motor had burned out. He also thoroughly checked over the heater-pan for any cracks or leaks, and determine it's integrity. As it turned out the motor could be replaced, just as we had hoped for, which he replaced and secured in no time. There was just this something about how Robert was that reminded me of the good feeling I had in speaking with Jim earlier...I asked if they were related and he beamed and said, "He's my Brother." Now, the air-flow is stronger, the motor quieter, and we are immediately warm when we need heat. We are so happy with the whole process, from the lst. phone call , to the completion of work with Robert. This was a great experience for us, this connection with them. We, if need be, will gladly call on them again...and recommend them with high regards.

The technician was polite and seemed knowledgeable. He took his time to properly diagnose my problem before coming to the conclusion it couldn't be fixed and I needed a new furnace. My furnace was original and nearly 30 years old so I wasn't surprised. He seemed to know the make and was surprised it lasted as long as it did. The repair went relatively smoothly and efficiently. They took care to protect walkways and were clean. Overall efficient and a good experience. I'd use them again.

They came out to evaluate the attic venting and necessary fan size. They told me that I had plenty of venting in the attic and that they would be more expensive than what I needed for this job, which is a clear indicator of their professionalism and honesty. They recommended that I get a carpenter for the installation and perhaps an electrician for the wiring. They recommended a fan which they said they could pick up and deliver. I will keep them in mind if I need heating and air conditioning work.

I contacted All Weather when my 13-year-old traditional gas water heater started to leak. My husband and I had been discussing trying to "green" our house. I had All Weather provide me with estimates for two water heaters with tanks, the Bosch Tankless Water heater, and the Rinnai Tankless Water Heater. The Bosch Tankless water heater was about $300 more than the creaper tank water heater and came with a $300 tax rebate. Also, the Bosch has a hydro-ignition so it does not require electricity. John removed our old water heater tank (which had so much scale in it that it took about 3 hours to drain into our yard) and installed the new tankless water heater in about 4 hours. He and his helper were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. The only part they could not dispose of was the old exhaust pipe and roof cap because they are coated with asbestos. A tankless water heater takes a little getting used to, but we are very happy with the results. We are still playing with the dials to figure out how to get the best result. We have already noticed a reduction in our gas bill. We have used All Weather to replace out old furnace and our water heater. We are very happy with their customer service and their prices are competive. P.S. - After the first rain storm we realized that the flashing for the water heater's exhaust pipewas not fully sealed. I called All Weather and John came out on the first sunny day to seal up the flashing and replace the roof cap. I give them All Weather Heating and Plumbing an A+ for customer service and would recommend them.

The technician was on-time, knowledgable, and checked out the system - all was working properly. He cleaned and re-installed the washable air filter in the hallway ceiling panel. He said the air blower compartment did not need to be vacuumed like the prior tech did a year ago, because our air filter seemed to be working well and doing it's job keeping dirt out of the system.

They listened while I explained to them what was going on. They checked everything that I needed them to check. In addition to that they checked upstairs and the whole bath. Overall, they did a good check up. They came on time and cleaned up after themselves.

The heater was lighting, but turning off. Robert came out soon after we called and was quite sure it was a simple fix, but assured us he would return if we had any other problem with the heater. We had already called someone else who didn't see the problem. Robert stayed to test the heater to be sure it would stay on once lit. It has been working fine since.

We live in a 1008 sq. ft. home. Our house was built in 1977 and I believe we still had the original furnace that came with the house. We realize that there is probably no insulation in the outer walls of our home and eventually plan to have some blown in. Our home was "cold" in the winter. I have asthma and allergies. Every time we turned on our heat, I had an asthma attack. We tried getting the ducts and furnace cleaned, but this did not help. So, we were not using the heat in our home. My husband and I met with three different San Diego heating and plumbing companies. We chose All Weather Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning, Inc. for a number of reasons. 1) Price and product. No offense to anyone, but our home does not support a top-of-the-line product. It is not a top-of-the-line home. We chose a brand name that has a great warranty and a good reputation, but is not the "Hummer' of furnaces. For 1008 sq. ft., we didn't NEED a Hummer...we just needed better than we had. The product and the price that Robert Fenter presented to us was more than reasonable and fulfilled our needs. 2) Knowledge and people skills. Robert has been in the business for a long time and knows the area of San Diego we live in very well. We told him what we wanted, he told us what we needed, and gave us a couple of choices. We prefer to work with family-owned companies like All Weather because we are not interested in paying an inflated price in order to support a whole corporation. My husband especially appreciated that Robert did not "beat around the bush." He was knowledgeable, to the point, and didn't waste our time trying to sell us more than we needed. Robert, Jesse, and Frank came to our home on the day of installation, got to work, and completed the job efficiently and neatly. Robert showed me how to work the thermostat, and BAM, we have heat. Our master bedroom was always the coldest room in the house because it has two outer walls, one which faces North. Well, the extra register has done the trick and our bedroom is warm. I have also used the air filtration system on "fan" without the heat to clean the air in our home. When we are ready(and have a little more money)we will use All Weather to install the rest of our home air conditioning system. We are HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY with the service provided by Robert Fenter and All Weather Inc. We would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a new or upgraded heating and/or air conditioning system!

The phone was answered quickly and a repair person came by the next day. They called me and explained what was needed and told me to fix one would cost $285 and the other should probably be replaced (it was about 30 years old). He went and got the required part on the same day and had the one fixed that day, leaving me an invoice for the exact amount he had quoted. I was very pleased with the rapid response and reasonable price.

Bill, the technician, was professional, knowledgeable and took care of the repair and Heating and A/C system service. He suggested a different air filter to optimize our system's air flow and heating/cooling performance. They scheduled our call within a day of phoning their office too!

I called on Tuesday morning and by Tuesday afternoon someone from All Weather had called back and scheduled a technician to come out the next day between 10:00 and noon. At 9:00 on Wednesday, Bill called to say he was able to come out even sooner, and came over immediately to begin work. He was a fast and capable worker, and in short order had the problem identified, despite the fact that I'd complained of the downstairs unit being non-operational when it was actually the upstairs unit! He completed most of the work that day within a couple of hours, and made plans to return the next morning so that the unit had time to rest after stalling. Bill came right on time the next morning to complete the job, and was just as nice and efficient as the previous day.
