custom cabinets, home improvement stores
+ 0 moreIt wasn't cheap stuff but it was good working stuff. The customer service was great. We had to order the cabinets. They did the layout and everything. We sat down with one of their experts in that area and we told them what we wanted and they laid it out.
Description of Work: I went to Home Depot for cabinets. They have good cabinets. We don't have the real custom stuff but we got some good stuff from them. We used the Pomona location. The kitchen counter came from Home Depot.

+ -1 moreTHE WORKMANSHIP WAS GENERALLY VERY GOOD. HOWEVER, THEY DID SLIGHTLY NICK THE LINEN CABINET AND SAID NOTHING. FORTUNATELY THE TILE WORK THAT WE HAD INSTALLED LATER COVERED THIS BIT OF DAMAGE. THE OTHER COMPLAINT IS THAT, WORKING THROUGH HOME DEPOT (THE MIDDLE MAN), REQUIRED ADDITIONAL TIME DELAYS AND THE ENTIRE COUNTERTOP PROCESS TOOK OVER ONE MONTH. IN CONTRAST, WORKING WITH A CABINET AND COUNTERTOP COMPANY AS WE DID IN THE DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM, THE CABINETS AND COUNTERTOPS WERE PREFABRICATED TOGETHER AND INSTALLED IN ONE DAY. A MUCH BETTER ARRANGEMENT.
Description of Work: WE CONTRACTED THROUGH HOME DEPOT WITH A COMPANY IN ORANGE COUNTY, BLOCK TOPS INC, TO INSTALL A CORAIN COUNTERTOP AND TWO SINKS IN OUR UPSTAIRS BATHROOM. WE PAID A DEPOSIT FEE OF $100 WHICH WAS APPLIED TO OUR TOTAL BILL. WE HAD TO RECEIVE OUR CABINETS AND INSTALL OUR CABINETS FIRST BEFORE CONTACTING BLOCK TOPS. INITIALLY, THE WORKMAN CAME AT THE ARRANGED TIME AND MEASURED THE COUNTERTOP AREA. APPROXIMATELY 4-5 DAYS LATER, WE RECEIVED THE BID THROUGH HOME DEPOT AND ACCEPTED IT. WE THEN HAD TO PAY FOR THIS PRICE, MINUS THE $100 WE ALREADY DEPOSITED. WE WERE THEN CONTACTED BY BLOCK TOPS AGAIN FOR AN INSTALLATION DATE, 2 WEEKS LATER. THEY ARRIVED ON THE SCHEDULED DATE, INSTALLED THE COUNTERTOP WITH ATTACHED SINKS. THEY BUFFED IT AND CLEANED UP. THEY WERE DONE IN APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 HOURS.

Description of Work: WE HAD THE HOME DEPOT ORDER NEW CABINETS FROM THOMASVILLE, AND INSTALL THEM. HOME DEPOT ALSO HELPED TO DESIGN THE NEW KITCHEN.
