It went really well! Where we wanted it was actually really complicated and they worked with us every step of the way. They were able to troubleshoot the placement and the angle. They were able to install it in just one day and have had no leaks or issues!

John Izzo and Marty Miller from Sola-Brite have been
excellent to work with. We had two old skylights replaced and the work was done
when scheduled using top-grade material. One of the old units was very difficult
to remove but Marty did an excellent job and there was no damage to the
interior surfaces. All inside areas were well protected and cleanup was quick
and thorough. Overall the experience was excellent and it would be difficult to
imagine how they could have done a better job.

Drove to Pleasanton to see the different soltubes although we pretty much decided on the basic type at a home show. Set up a time for conttractors to come out and evaluate the ceiling and the roof and attic. Had to avoid a architectural dormer on the roof . One climbed in small attic space above the closet and connected the roof section with a  tube to a lens in the ceiling. The whole thing took 2 hours.
The contractor made suggestions on what to do if the sun was reflecting off the mirrored doors. Very pleasant to work with.Should have done it 30 years ago; has made a huge difference in the master bath....
we had a coupon from AL for $39.00
It was $345 for the solatube and $414.00 for the installation minus coupon. Tax was 29.33

I'm in the midst of remodeling my duplex here in town. Since my windows have an eastern exposure, I onlly get morning sun. The upstairs hallway is 22 ft long, and typically dark, even on the sunniest of days.  I wanted a solution that would give me full lighting, regardless of the time of day.
Solar lighting (and Sola-brite, in particular) was recommended to me by my interior decorator who is established and active in the tri-valley.
I previewed the product at their website and requested a follow up sales call. It was prompty answered, and an appointment was made for a salesperson to visit my home.
The sales rep arrived on time and surveyed my situation and offered alternatives. The sales person went over my options and each one of the products and gave recommendations. He then gave a written quote on some variations along with literature and left me to deliberate.
I fiollowed up, chosing 2 ea. 10" tubes to be installed, Since one of the tubes replaced an existing hall light, I opted for 2 light kits to be installed - one at the original light location, the other to be daisy-chaned into the 2nd tube to operate concurrently.
Note that Sola-brite will need to file a permit with the city for the work - a necessary evil.
The contract was written at the Solabrite office. A 10% down payment was required and the work was scheduled,
When the time came, the installer promptly arrived and he performed the work professionally.
The end result is a fawless, efficient lighting system that changes the look of my upstairs completely.  The quality of the materials and workmanship, the steps taken in the tube preparation before installation and the installation itself were exceptionaL The price is fair, I always believe you get what you pay for. The warranty is 10 years on the materials and (I beleive) 5 years on the installation.
I highly recommend this solar lighting solutiont and dealer, and hope to be doing business with them again next year.

We got an estimate on solar panels for our house.  The company only offers lease programs.  We were interested in puchasing solar panels.  The price seemed good though for those who are interested in leasing as opposed to buying.

They did not install the panels until later because I was having a roof put on and I wanted to have all that done at the same time. They did three skylights in the hall and I love them. I had half of them put in and then I had them do more because I love them. I think we were finished in May. Their skylights are like windows and those have to be framed. There are tubes that go from the roof to the ceiling. The dome is faceted to collect light and the interior of the tube has a light reflective coating on it. If you look through it, you can actually see light. It bounces the light back and forth. You do not loose light in the tube. You can tell the difference in the quality of the tube, by looking through it. Then they either have a flat glass surface or things that look like a light fixture. They bring in an amazing amount of light. It is amazing. I have a great big window in my living room, I was always having to turn my lights on, and now I do not need to. For the first month, I kept trying to figure out which light I needed to turn off. They bring in a lot of light. Because of the different filters and fixtures, that they have you can adjust how much light comes in. Once I put them in, I was going why did I not do this before. No one can look in. If they have to angle the tubing, they do not loose light. They were very helpful and cooperative. They worked well with the solar panel people because of where I wanted the tubes. I needed to have the solar panels moved of 3 inches. They were really good working with me and the other contractors. Their warranty would match that of the roof. They were very responsive; we worked back and forth by email. They were prompt about responding. They were right on time. The crew that came to put them in was very professional. Everybody was very professional.

Had a lens break in a tube skylight, and a bird to remove that got stuck looking for a way out.  I would have given an A on price except that sadly the size of the tube I had was no longer being made, so instead of just replacing a lens, I needed to replace the whole unit, so it wound up a bit more expensive than we had hoped for, though this was really not the fault of the company.  They did at least give me a break on the labor costs for the bird removal, since we were upgrading to a whole new tube.  They did offer to try to find a way to put in the smaller lens, but I knew this would not be a real good fix, and with the hourly labor costs wouldn't have saved that much since, it would take a good bit of time for them to hack a way together, and may not stay fixed long term.  I am very happy with final fix as it looks great now.

I had heard about whole house fans being a less expensive and easier install to solve the problem of coming home in the evening to find a hot, stale house with little breeze to circulate the air.  I was against air conditioning just based on the cost.  Plus with the temperate California climate there are only a few weeks in the whole year where it really gets unbearable hot.  And even on the hottest days the temperature in the evening is quite nice outside.  I thought a whole house fan would be perfect in our situation.
I had bought a Sola-tube from Sola-Brite at the end of 2011.  Another purchase well worth the money.  While in the showroom I saw the display for the Quiet Cool whole house fan product.  I decided to check back in with them when the weather started to get warmer.  Called Sola-Brite around May 9, 2012.  Had a person come out for a quote on May 22, 2012.  Decided it was the right choice for me.  Scheduled the install for June 5, 2012 at 8 AM.
The installer (Marty) showed up right at 8 AM sharp.  Electrician showed up 30 minutes after that.  The installer laid out tarps down the hallways and in the bedroom in front of the attic access door.  He asked where I would like the duct opening that had to go in the ceiling and where I wanted the switches.  He was very accommodating to my requests.  Turns out, due to some structural beams in the ceiling we had to settle for a different spot, but it was still in the hallway.  There was an open power source in the attic very close to where I wanted the switches so that worked out really well.  Installer went to work cutting the hole and adding the ducting, tubing and fans.  Electrician worked on installing the power for the switches.  Whole thing was done by 12 PM.  Very fast.  Very efficient.  The installer cleaned up, vacuumed and showed me how it worked.  Marty did a great job.
I have had it for 2 days and I LOVE this thing.  Crack a window in a room, turn the fans on and in 5-10 minutes the hot air in the room is sucked right out into the attic.  My daughter complained that it made her room too cold.  If I open the kitchen window or patio door, I get a really nice breeze that circulates through the whole house.  Of course the outside temperature must be lower than the inside temperature otherwise you just suck hot air inside.  But this is northern California and by 3-4 PM the air begins to cool and we are normally left with a hot house and no way to purge the hot air.  This is perfect and Sola-Brite did a good job and very fast.  I can't tell you whether the cost is more or less than a competing product.  I tend to find a company I like to work with and stick with them.  I got my sola-tube from them and so I got my Quiet Cool fan from them.  But so far I have no complaints.  Fan has a 10 year warranty.   It's a very simple design so I don't really expect any problems.  Plus in my past experience Sola-Brite has always helped me out, even delivering parts that I accidentally forgot so I wouldn't have to make a 2nd trip.  This was from the sola-tube install from December 2011, not this recent install, but it's just another reason why I like using them.

The owner, salesman was very informative, compared it to other models and  gave references of big jobs. He gave us timelines. The price was very reasonable compared to what a roof company was going to charge incorporating it into the roof. We are very pleased with the light that is coming in. We chose the bigger light lens. Which gives us so much light. We might do it in another place or two in our house in the future.  The light has brightened both areas more than our lights did. The fan is quieter in the bathroom than our old one and the light in the hallway at night is much brighter too. It makes the hallway and the bathroom seem bigger as well as brighter. The attic ventilator seems to be doing it's job well.

The Sola-Brite team arrived on-site at the time promised.  One of their challenges was to get light down from the roof to the first floor.  They cleverly managed to use a corner of a built-in closet to run the solid aluminum tubing through, but then we hit a snag.  In driling some small test holes in the closet floor they found a ceiling joist intruding into part of the area they needed.  We made an on-site decision with their installation team to reduce the size of the tube diameter.  What I liked about this was (a) they didn't just give up. (b) They didn't start cutting out portions of the ceiling joist. (c) They worked with us to come up with the acceptable solution.

We had initially ordered a 2 skylight install, but when we saw how much natural daylight their product brought into a dark stairwell, we asked them if they could install an additional unit in a bathroom.  They had the parts with them and gave us a price break on the third unit.

The installation went smoothly, they did a good job of clean-up and the resulting light improvement was impressive.

I'm sure there are cheaper solar skylight companies out there, but Sola-Brite's product seem high quality, and provide significant additional daytime light.
