I purchased the service contract for $239.00. They attempted to repair my printer but couldn't fix it. Avoid them like the plague.

I have had an incredibly frustrating time dealing with both Dell's Tech Support and Software Support teams. I purchased an upgraded laptop Inspiron almost two years ago, which was working fine until a couple months ago. The laptop completely died and because I purchased an extended warranty, I contacted the customer support groups for help. After about a week of all day long phone calls, we got the laptop up and running...kind of. We had to replace the Mother Board, Hard Disk Drive, keyboard and speakers. Almost a completely new computer, except it will not connect, or stay connected to the wireless internet. After more multi-hour phone calls, it became an annoying "blame game". The hardware group blames the software, and the software group blames the hardware. We have two locations we take the laptop to and it will not connect in either location, so we know it's the laptop and not the wireless service. The latest phone call ended in the support tech just telling me "there's nothing we can do". The laptop is STILL under warranty and, I believe, should be either fixed or replaced. Instead it is unusable. While cancelling all the additional warranties and protections I purchased in an effort to fix the problem, my complaint was escalated to a "Manager". At first he seemed helpful and told me he would get the problem fixed. However, he never called back when promised. When I called him back, he was very defensive and rude on the phone. Since then, he has not taken my calls, nor has he returned any messages by phone or email. I have been a longtime customer of Dell and have purchased many computers for our home and kids, but at this point, I will not purchase another Dell product. Again, with a valid warranty, I would think every effort should be made to repair the problem completely or replace the laptop. Instead, it's headed for the garbage bin. Very dissappointed!!!

The first person that I spoke with from Dell was very rude. He did not want to help me so I told him that and hung up, but did call again. I reported him to them but I did not receive a follow up call. The second gentleman I spoke with was very nice. He went over everything with me while on the phone and helped me install the keyboard with relative ease. I will not buy another computer from them because when I have called in, I have had to talk to people that are really hard to understand and it makes it too difficult. I will, however, continue to use them through my warranty coverage.

Dell changed the specs on the computer without asking me. It was a downgrade but they charged me the same price. Customer service was awful in trying to clear up the issue.
