My complex has hired a fencing company to replace the fences. Part of my brick patio needs to be removed in order to replace the fence posts. The fencing company advised they might damage the brick during removal and recommended I find a contractor to remove the brick without damage. In an attempt to preserve the existing antique brick and avoid mismatching with new brick I called for estimates from companies that advertised that they do concrete repair or masonry. I left a message on Friday and the following Monday morning. Al returned my call later in the day on Monday. He was available to come out the next morning to do the estimate, but we scheduled for the day after due to my schedule. He arrive 10 minutes late - partly because he went to the wrong side of the home. He was personable and listened. He admitted he might also damage the brick and couldn't do the job for under $200. He thought he could find some brick that might be similar to mine, but would have to look. He suggested that I just have the fencing company remove the brick as replacing with new bricks would be relatively inexpensive. I know from past experience I can purchase similar if not exact bricks from my local stone yard. I appreciated his honesty in providing advice that was helpful for me at the expense of potentially costing him a job. He also gave me a rough estimate on how much it would cost to replace a rectangular driveway with average pavers costing $4 to $7 per paver. Keep in mind he did not actually look at my job. He provided the estimate so that I could have some idea on how much to budget. He quoted about $15/sq ft. .
Description of Work: Provided estimate to remove 8 bricks (3 whole bricks and 5 pieces of brick)
