After the big storms that hit the area, and after the power was restored to our neighborhood, half of our power went out. We called a few electricians and American was the only company that could come out that day. My husband and the electrician went to the back yard where they witnessed arcing between the PG&E drop line and our house, and they could smell something burning. When PG&E had restored power to the neighborhood, the surge had burned out one of the two wires leading into the house, as well as one of our circuits. American replaced the circuit and the wire and instructed us to leave the power off until PG&E could come and repair the connection at the drop line. Once PG&E had fixed their side of the problem, our power was restored and we have had no problems since. While the electrician was hard to understand, he was very patient.
