Joe's crew showed up in full force. Emptied and moved shed. Cleared patio and work area. Dropped all branches and main trunk with ropes and tension pulley. NO DAMAGE to fence or shed. All tree were removed from back yard and stumps ground. Work area was cleaned up, shed was moved back and all contents were put back. Except for the new sunlight it was like they were never here. Job went seamlessly and crew was very professional and polite. Camphor Tree looks GREAT !!

A 50 foot tall live oak tree fell over on my property during the heavy rains of last winter. Fortunately, nothing was damaged except for the buckeye trees that it fell on, and the fallen tree blocked the trail to the valley below. My wife and I, and a friend with a chain saw, cut up as much of the tree as we felt that we could safely do. When we got to the point where the mass of the tree was supported on three or four load-bearing limbs, we knew that we had reached our limits as amateurs, and we called in the professionals.
Joe of Quality Tree Care visited, and we talked about what I would like to have done: cut up the tree so that the branches high in the air were all on the ground, cut up the branches into fireplace-sized logs, and get the tree off the trail. Unfortunately, only the first of the three requirements made it into the contract. I naively assumed that "cutting up the tree" would include "into fireplace-sized logs" and "off the trail." As soon as all the wood was on the ground, the job was declared finished. I was left with huge logs on the ground, the trunk still encumbering the trail, and a lesson in contracts: imagine the absolute minimum amount of work required to satisfy the letter of the contract, and don't expect anything more.
The way in which the workmen initially approached the task was somewhat disconcerting. They tied one end of what looked like a pretty small rope to the huge tree down the hill (trunk diameter approximately 4 feet), and the other end to the trailer hitch of an old Honda Accord at the top of the hill. I could only imagine that if the tree started to roll down the hill, either the rope would break or the car would be pulled down with the tree. I didn't feel that I was in a position to tell these men how to do their job, but when Joe appeared at the work site, it seemed that he questioned that arrangement as well.
They started work around 3:00 pm on a Friday, and had not finished by quitting time. Their last words were, "See you Monday." Monday came and went with no one appearing and no phone call. The next Monday came and went with no one appearing and no phone call. On Wednesday I got a phone call, "See you on Friday." Four men appeared on Friday and cut up the remainder of the tree so that all the wood was on the ground.
Cutting up a massive oak tree lying on the ground, with several load-bearing limbs, is a hazardous task best left to people who know what they are doing. I'm glad I didn't have to tackle that job myself, but I wish that all of the goals that Joe and I talked about had made it into the contract.

In spite of a wind in the afternoon, the tree cutter stayed strapped up high chain sawing down branches from early morning until dusk. The gentleman cutting the tree said he had 17 years experience. Like Joe, he was outgoing and personable. I liked the fact that both of them enjoyed talking about the care and life cycle of trees. I learned a lot. The crew made sure all debris was hauled away. They managed to protect all but one upright sprinkler when letting down the branches. I was happy with their work.

They were able to come a day early and were very fast. They took off big branches being very careful not to hit the house and their clean up left the yard neater than before they started. Would not hesitate to use them again

These tree trimmers were excellent.  They came when scheduled, did the work quickly and efficiently.  They made sure all decorations, bird feeders and things were out of the way and taken care of before doing work.  When they finished they put everything back where it came from and cleaned all branches and debris.  The even swept the street where they did the chipping.
I would definitely have them trim my trees again and would recommend them to friends.

They were recommended by a highly regarded aborist in our area (Clayton/Conrod). They showed up on time and started to work right away. They made great progess the first day, and finished by noon on the second day.  When they left they picked up everthing, raked everything and even swept the brick areas. The yard immaclutely clean, much cleaner even, than when they arrived.  We could not be happier!
