Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel
About us
Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel has been serving El Dorado County for decades from tire service to mechanical repairs and maintenance! We were previously known as "Toms Sierra Tire" and "The Tire Exchange", two names many people know well. The business was purchased in early 2013 by Geoff Bodle, an employee and manager of the shop under Sierra Energy, and moved to a new location at 659 Main Street. Many may know the building as the old Stancil's Toyota Dealership, the first Toyota dealership in the USA! We saw it as a great business opportunity, and a great place for our customers! During the summer, we've had many customers drop their vehicles off early Saturday morning and walk a short distance to the Farmer's Market. Other days customers can make their way to old town Main Street and peruse the shops, or stop by the local eateries nearby for some fantastic food and atmosphere. Should anyone find themselves not up for a walk, we have a large, comfortable waiting area, coffee, vending machine, and flat screen TV for your enjoyment, as well as a few classic cars on our showroom to admire. Our history in this county is extensive, we have watched the tire industry grow and technology advance for many years, and we've always kept up with it! All of our mechanics are ASE certified, and our tire technicians have years of experience behind them! Our tire technicians and mechanics are all up to date on the most current advancements and technologies in the automotive industry to better serve you, and our community. We at Sierra Nevada Tire & Wheel have always done our best to provide you with the highest quality products and service! We are your #1 community tire and mechanic shop!

Excellent. I was able to phone up the day before. They gave me a quote for how much the new tires would be based on my requirements. They ordered the tires in, and the next day the were installed. They have a nice waiting room and the price quoted was the price I paid. No surprises. All the staff are very professional and exceptionally efficient. Well Done!
They also advised me that because the rubber had gone on the tires (that is all 4 tires having been 15 years old on the car) that I should replace the second two on the back.
This was arranged again within 24 hours at the same cost. No worries.
When I had a problem (I thought) with my brakes, they inspected them for nothing, and fortunately I got the reassurance I needed after the mechanic took the car for a test drive. Thank you so much for your consideration.
"[member] provide for you and your vehicle's needs!"
We called the referral number and they set us up with a tow truck, and explained what needed to be done to get it into their shop without further damage. The diagnosis took about 30 minutes; they found a packrat had chewed some wires off the
back of the transmission way down in the engine interior, and gave us an exact estimate and went to work on it. Because of the confidence I had in their work, I also had them do a transmission oil change and filter change, and the tranny lasted another
4 years. Was still going when we sold it 4 years later at about 230k miles.
"We thank you for your business and truly appreciate your trust our business! We pride ourselves on our honest, hard working and experienced mechanics, and we're glad that they were able to get you back on the road!"
After balancing, left front tire shakes badly at 55 MPH.
Torqued lug nuts to 140 lbs-ft instead of 70 lbs-ft specification, broke off one rear wheel stud and didn't replace it or inform me.
After alignment, car pulls to the right and is developing uneven right front tire outer edge wear.
I wouldn't go back for any reason.
"Hello [Member's name removed], I would like to first say that I apologize for our severely delayed response to your review here. Unfortunately, because we are under new ownership and considered a new business as of March 2013, I was unable to find your record in our system. We are sincerely sorry for the experience you had at the old location, and would like you to know that we run a very professional and reasonable business here. Should something like what you experienced happen here at our new shop, I assure you the owner would never allow you to drive off our lot without informing you of everything we had found on your vehicle, or any mishaps that may have occurred on our part. We hope you will give us an opportunity to earn your business under our new owner, Geoff, and again we apologize for your unsavory experience at the old shop!"
