The initial consultation went extremely well. Mr Baker was personable and helpful, and proposed a 2 zone approach that would address our inability to maintain a comfortable temperature across the entire house. By creating a second zone for the rooms with cathedral ceilings, we would be better able to adjust the amount of heating/cooling to compensate for the rooms with a large volume of air to head/cool. He respected our concerns about the esthetics of the installation, such as the location of the thermostats, and our desire to avoid structural modifications, such as cutting into existing walls or floors. The installation team consisted of Mr Baker and another individual. They arrived promptly, were personable, and explained the HVAC system in terms that we could understand. They were quiet, efficient, and were careful to ensure our dogs did not get out of our yard. The installation was neat and tidy, and they thoroughly cleaned up their work site and removed all the construction debris. The work was originally planned for 1 day, but they had to come back on the following day for approximately 4 hours to finish the installation. Mr Baker arranged for the HERA testing, and both he and his colleague were present during the testing. Test results were significantly above the minimum code requirements. Mr Baker arranged for the El Dorado county permits and building inspection. The building inspector did not make any adverse observations concerning the installation.
Description of Work: Baker Heating removed our 20 year old natural gas furnace and air conditioner (split unit - condenser and coils). They installed a Trane 2 stage 18 SEER air conditioner and a Trane mid-efficiency 80% 2 stage variable speed furnace. In addition, they installed a Honeywell 2 zone system and 2 Honeywell touchscreen thermostats (one for each zone). They arranged for HERA testing and all permits and inspections.
