BEN CASTRO MASONRY & CONCRETE

The BCM team took a week to complete, they were always punctual and courteous. They left the yard clean every day after work. We are beyond pleased with the new concrete wall that affords better privacy than before. It is perfect and I would highly recommend them to family and friends.

Got several bids and picked them due to their prior block wall work and prompt scheduling. After they pulled permit (never pull it yourself due to liability), the crew started right away. The wall was done in about a week and passed inspection. Thee crew are efficient and courteous

Overall I'm pleased with the final product and the price was very reasonable.  It took only a few days for a team of workers and they did a good job.  The brick work on the walkway to my front door is beautiful.  A few issues arose: After realizing the agreed-upon driveway strips would be too short to close the gate behind the car, they extended the concrete strips at no extra charge.  Unfortunately they extended them too far and affected the drainage but they fixed it, again no extra charge.  They left a mess but I assume it was because they were already overbudget on the job so they wanted to finish quickly.

I went to city hall to pull some permits for window replacements. While I was there I got information on how much I could widen my existing driveway. It was very complicated and took awhile to get a straight answer, but I was able to confirm that it could be widened the amount I had hoped for, but the city was very picky about the approach. I called Ben Castro who came out immediately and gave me a very low estimate. Ben did an outstanding job recently on some masonry work for me (see recently submitted report) and I knew I could trust his work. He left my home and immediately went to the city to find out about the permits. He came back and adjusted his estimate based on the city's requirements for the approach. The price was still very fair. The work began the next morning and by the third day they were done. The crew was very polite and professional. Ben himself was here for most of the work. I would definitely recommend Ben Castro for your masonry and concrete needs.

I contacted Ben Castro's office at 562-948-1095 and spoke with a very professional and helpful person who assured me that Ben would be able to see me that same day and she would call me back within an hour and let me know what time he could be at my house. To my pleasant surprise, she called me back as promised and told me Ben could be there by 3:00pm. Ben arrived on time and took the measurements. He didn't try to upsell me, he wasn't pushy, and he gave me a price on the spot. Every other mason I called spent forever walking around, suggesting I do this and that, and then telling me they would get back to me with an estimate and would not get back to me for a long time. When I would finally call them, their estimate was ridiculously high. Ben had the most reasonable estimate and best demeanor. I called Ben a few weeks later and the next day his crew were at my house at 7:00am sharp doing the work. I gave him $1,500 down and he asked for the rest upon completion. The crew of 3 guys worked great and arrived everyday on time. They were neat and always cleaned up at the end of each day. Ben told me it would take 3 days to complete and sure enough at the end of the last day it was done. I highly recommend Ben Castro if you need any masonry work done. It was a pleasure working with him.
