I just went in for specific things, but they did a very thorough safety check and reported everything back to me, about things that could become a problem in the future. It took them a little longer to do it, but I don't think it was their fault.

I was driving around, trying to run a bunch of errands, ion a very hot day, and as the day wound down I was plagued with a rough running engine that was behaving very badly even at idle. I barely made it to my driveway when the engine outline (Check engine) light came on. This was at 5:00 P.M., and they arranged to pick up the car at my home, since I am disabled, and they called me with updates to let me know what they had found. From my own experience, when i was able to repair cars myself, I know how hard it is to track down this kind of problem and was very impressed that they only charged for one hour of diagnostics, when Chiltons guide says it could take up to five hours.
I can recommend them without reservation. While I was there on another visit I was really impressed with their honesty. I overheard them recommending a customer to a more specialized shop when they felt they did not have the specialized equipment to work on an older European car.
I have, at one time or another, used almost every auto repair shop in Petaluma, and MCR is my new favorite.
