Seven months later (October, 2009), I returned to California to prepare the home for a renter. I was distraught to find many, many items missing from the house, garage, and workshop, as well as the garden shed (which he did not have a key to) broken into and items missing. I was not notified of this break-in. In addition, the irrigation system was not working properly. Although he claimed he didn't have time to repair it, it had not been working for at least three weeks. A house key was not provided to anyone but Mr. Collins.
Description of Work: Mr. Collins had satisfactorily performed handyman-type work for my elderly parents for approximately two years. Last winter they encountered health problems, were unable to stay in their home, and relocated out of state to an assisted living facility. I asked Mr. Collins to mow the lawn weekly, maintain the irrigation system (repair if needed),start their car weekly, and check the status of the inside and outside of the home (signs of vandalism, needed repairs, etc.).
