All I can say is Thank You Diane at Paso Robles Idler’s store. The customer service was excellent and Diane came through when it mattered the most. My husband and I had a freezer go down during the recent flood and we went in hoping to replace it. Diane went out of her way to get us a freezer and delivered it the same day. We didn’t lose any of our food and couldn’t be happier with the customer service we received! Thank you for being there when we really needed it the most.

They did a good job for me. price was very competitive. Very conscious about how they installed it. Their word of mouth referrals were very good and ended up being true.

Repair was efficient and informative. Over the last 40 years we have bought many appliances, no complaints. In 2000 we had a problem with a GE Induction cooktop that we purchased from Idlers  and began having problems with burners not working while it was still under warranty. GE was discontinuing this cooktop and Idlers arranged a GE offer to pay 70% of a new cooktop of my choice. We are very happy with the gas cooktop we choose.

Stove was delivered the day before the outside installer came.  The installer did a good job.  He did additional work for us.  We are very happy with our purchase.

After many, many years of using Idler's for our all large appliance repair, we finally are forced to change to a new repair service.  The last three times we hired them, we were really unhappy.  1.  They don't have enough repair people, so we had to wait over a week (once, almost three weeks)  for someone to come look at the unit.  2.  Each time, they had to come back multiple times because they did not repair it correctly.  Once, we had to have them back FOUR times - the final time, they sent an older gentleman who diagnosed and repaired the problem in about 10 minutes.  And the fix was a very, very simple thing.  So we spent a ton of money on a new part that wasn't needed.  So, we're found a new service.
On a good note, their workmen are prompt, clean, and maintain a clean work area.

failed  twice while previously IN warranty. When the refrigerator subsequently failed just after the dishwasher died, we beat feet and went to Sears to purchase two new appliances. Two-year-old appliances should not have to be replaced unless they are cheaply made and woefully maintained, and that was not the case in these instances.

Response from Idler’s Home Paso Robles

"I am so sorry you feel this way Member as it seemed to me we had worked through the bumps in your project. When I was out at your beautiful home 2011 the kitchen looked beautiful and it seemed you were pleased. My family and fellow workers have labored for almost 60 years to provide honest good but maybe not perfect service. If I have let you down please let me know what I can do. You know my number at the store. Don Idler President Idler's Inc."

We have purchased many appliances from Idler's, and they did our kitchen remodel a few years ago as well. When our washer's spin cycle started to sound like a jet engine taking off, we called Idler's to come take a look at it. Turns out to be a problem with the bearings and the entire machine needs to be disassembled and inner and outer drums (?) replaced. We have scheduled this follow-up repair visit for next week. Since we had purchased the extended warranty, the labor and replacement parts will be fully covered.
We had a similar good experience a couple of years ago when the glass top on our gas range cracked. A replacement was installed free of charge since it was still under warranty.
We've been very impressed with the service and professionalism of everyone we've dealt with at Idler's, from sales to installation to service. Just wish they did bathrooms - our next house project!

Very poor customer service, sales advice, and horrible installation skills. These people should be avoided at all costs.

Our clothes washer was leaking water. The warranty had expired less than a month earlier. It cost $90.00 dollars to have a service person come out. He called to say when he would arrive, and then he showed up two hours earlier without calling again. He was unapologetic for arriving so early. Luckily, we were home. He came in and checked the machine. He informed us that the water level was too high for the amount of clothes in the washer, and that was the reason it leaked water. I asked him to please move the machine out a little so I could clean behind it and wipe up any more water. He said, why bother, no no will see behind it anyway.. He did not move the machine or make any effort to clean around it. He then collected the $90.00 and left. Since his visit, the washing machine makes a lot more noise than it did before he came and "worked" on it. I was extremely disappointed with the service, and I felt that $90.00 was way too much for what was done. Not only will I not buy any more service contracts from Idler's, but I will not shop there again.

It is the best place in town.  They are dependable and reliable.  I found that in most of the categories that I looked at and I went back and used the ones that put their names around town.  I don’t remember how much I spent but I’m sure it was reasonable.  I have nothing to compare their prices to.  I will use their services again in the future.

The service tech fixed the door gasket, spent a long time chatting to the jenn-air staff about matters unrelated to our refrigerator. When he left we thought the problem may have been fixed. He told us not to call Idler's back if we had further problems, but to go directly through Jenn-Air service. It wasn't until the second repair tech came out that I realized how bad our first repair call from Idler's had been. There was a 2 inch hole in the back of the frig that was a constant water/air leak and the drain issue was easily fixed. I would not recommend Idlers service and am disappointed I just purchased multiple appliances from them.

We'd been very happy with our old Whirlpool refrigerator, but it finally died of old age. Idlers Appliance sold us a new Whirlpool. Because it had a scratch on the side, the price was reduced. The salesman stated that the damage was cosmetic only and would not effect the use or operation of the unit in any way. He said that Idlers tested all the cosmetically damaged units to make certain of this. Feeling secure that the unit was only superficially damaged with the one indicated scratch, I chose the floor model rather than waiting a week or two for an order. Three days later, Idlers service employees came to the house to install it. They were very conscientious and polite. During installation, they snapped the bolt that supports the fridge door. (the installers added a note to our receipt reflecting this) They then continued the installation process by starting to drill a new hole for a different bolt. It was so noisy and jarring to the fridge, that we asked them to stop. We were concerned that such traumatic jerryrigging would not bode well for the life of the fridge and might nullify the warranty with the maker, Whirlpool. We called the Idlers manager who said Idlers would leave the unit with us as a loaner only. (our receipt reflects this). He said Idlers would order us a new one at no additional cost. It was to arrive in about a week. So far, so good. Our decision to accept the unit as a loaner was based on this proposed remedy. We were very pleased. This is why we chose a locally owned dealer. Well, come Monday morning, a different Idlers employee said that they would not do that, that he did not know why the other manager would have said such a thing. He proposed that Idlers come out and drill that new hole to make it right. No word as to how this might effect the warranty or future functioning of the fridge. An unstable door and a defunct warranty is not a "cosmetic" issue in my book. If Idlers will not stand behind their word to replace the faulty unit (that they broke!), I expect them to return my money so I can purchase a different refrigerator. What a shame! We've really enjoyed working with Idlers over the years and would like to continue to do so. We're also waiting for a reply from Whirlpool regarding a warranty's validity, and a refrigerator's quality, after appliance dealers start drilling new holes in the door. We'll update you with the rest of the story as it develops. Meanwhile, our wonderful neighbors have offered to loan us their extra fridge. We're moving it from their garage to ours later this morning! (You see, there's no room in our kitchen because we have this loaner-in-limbo that Idlers left back when we believed they'd replace it...)

As I had already taken half day off work to wait for delivery and installation, I accepted products. Not a good way to do business, Idlers. You made one sale and it will cost you several customers.

A burner on our stove top would not light with the spark lighter. We phoned the company and explained the problem. The person scheduling the appointment did not tell the service man what the problem was. When he arrived, he made a minor adjustment he said he could have talked us through over the phone. But since he came out, there was a $90 charge. He was in our home for all of five minutes.
