Right from the first interaction, Barb was very rude and short with me on the phone. She couldn't give me a specific date/time, said they were too busy and she'd update later. Once we got a date (still no exact time window), they canceled on us. Got the same snippy chatter about being super busy with no apologies for not being able to show up. Definitely felt like our job was just a thorn in her side. 2nd date for scheduling also came and went with a cancelation from them the day of. No concern or any vibe of remorse was expressed. Just told us that we were not an emergency and needed to fine someone else. Boom. If that is how Barb handles all her customers, I'm surprised they are still in business. If her tone had been even slightly apologetic and/or she went out on a limb and offered up another company or two to try as a recommendation, it could have gone a long way in how I feel about H & H right now. Zero sH*t$ were given.

"I would like to start by apologizing for my first conversation with you. I was at the hospital where my husband was having surgery when you called me, so I was a little short. I thought I apologized when I called you the next day. First of all you didn't call us for an appointment you were assigned to us by your home warranty company. The paper work we received was not for just one problem, and was not sent as an emergency job. You said you have a toilet that runs once in a while, you have sink leaking (which ended up to be a dog wash sink that was installed incorrectly in the first place. You had our plumber look at it the last time he was out to your house, which is not a covered item with your warranty Co.) That is when you realized that your main shut off valve was not turning your water off completely. None of which were emergency problems. Yes we did have to cancel our calls a couple of times because we had too many emergency calls it was 5 days before Christmas. We were doing our best to get to the customers that had no water, no hot water, broken sewer lines that could not use anything in their homes. I told you at that point that you could call the home warranty company and request another plumbing company, which you did. I couldn't recommend any other plumbers because of the warranty company. We are a small plumbing company that has been in business for 32 years in Paso Robles. We are sorry for any inconvenience."

On Saturday, made an appointment for Tuesday but day before appointment they called me and told me they were too busy and that i should call somebody else. So I waited 2 days with open faucet and running water for them to cancel on me ?

Ben was awesome! I called on a Tuesday afternoon, and he was out to my house on Wednesday morning. He replaced my bathtub spout, and replaced the valve in the bathtub faucet, which fixed both issues. He also looked at the water piping in my attic, and determined that some of the pipe already had insulation around it, and most was in areas where it had been fed through very small areas and could not be accessed to insulate. I'm very happy with the service that was provided!

H&H showed up in the morning promptly (calling us to let us know when they would arrive). When auguring the toilet was unsuccessful, he removed the toilet and used a heavy-duty, automatic snake which finally found the obstruction some 30 feet(!) in. He restored and re-sealed the toilet, cleaned up, explained what he had done and was on his way in about an hour. Great service!

We are in the process of selling our house and an inspector flagged some plumbing problems. We contacted one local plumber, who said that they would get back to us. That was more than a month ago. We called H&H Plumbing and Barbara got us on the list right away. She kept us informed about their visit, and Gary and Cory arrived right on time. They efficiently checked out the problems and set to work. They tightened one toilet and reset another, tightened a leaking sink drain, and caulked a shower stall. Both men were very personable and they listened to our concerns. Gary advised us on an outdoor PVC problem--they don't work with outdoor PVC.

We were just impressed because we did not end up getting a new disposal. What they did was reasonable and we felt like they were very good about all the clean up. We just felt that they were trustworthy and reputable. I think it was a father and a son which was nice. It was sort of a family business. They were on time. They were conscientious and honest.

It was good. I spent less than $400. They were good and I got my money's worth for the job. They were very courteous, we encountered some difficulties and we worked through them an they didn't charge me more than what was expected. They came in and gave me an estimate in the beginning then they encountered problems but they still stuck to the price. They checked a few other things around the house. The plumber I had before told me I needed a new faucet in my garage and this plumber said there's nothing wrong with it and it doesn't leak, which was good. Then my water softeners needed to be replaced and what he quoted me was a bit high so I didn't replace them yet so I'm just shopping around now.

Gave a fair estimate. Followed up with a reasonable timetable. Arrived on-time. Their experience was obvious from the first hour they worked. Workmen were polite and friendly with very little disturbance in our routine. When getting close to finishing, they communicated the testing they were performing and kepted us informed as to when to expect the job to be over.Very professional.

A very nice father-son team. They argue a bit, but i found it charming. they were very nice to be around, which makes a difference when someone is in your house for that long. They understood we were on a budget and worked with us so we could do our own trenching to save some money. they found us a laundry sink that someone was throwing away and a slightly dented water heater at a great discount that another customer rejected. They also had some great suggestions that i wouldn't have thought of. Examples: Soft water will wear out filters faster, so the water going to the icemaker and R/O sytem bypasses the water softener. Also, the cold water in the kitchen is not soft either, so soup pots and such are not being filled with soft water. they added an extra spigot with an irrigation fitting under the regular hose spigot in the backyard because i told him i was planning a garden there. they also put in a really nice quarter turn shutoff on both faucets, which i wouldn't have thought to request, but am glad i have. they made an effort to find "old fashioned" looking tub hardware to go with my antique tub and were very carefull not to scratch it when removing the broken, rusted pipe flange in the bottom. It did end up with a few scratches, but i couldn't be helped. overall, hiring them was a wonderful experience and i will have them back when i am finally ready to finish our second bath.

They were pretty prompt about responding to us. We had some difficulties. We didn't get some things in writing and then when we questioned them about it, they said they didn't remember. It was things which had to do with cost. We had to actually repair some things ourselves and it had to do with the shower. Other than that it was fine. It was a positive experience but it was just that some things were not the best, as far as communicating with them. We might use their services again in the future.

We were very happy with them. The guys were good and their price was very reasonable. They didn’t leave a mess. They showed up on time and got the job done really quickly. There were a few things for which I had to call them back.
