It was quite simple and the price seemed outrageous.  I thought the task would be much more difficult.  I think he should charge by the hour.

I do not give a negative review lightly, unfortunately The Rain Leak Pro is a disappointment.
I had a rain leak coming into the 1st floor kitchen window and everything they did over 4 visits eventually made the leak worse.
After the 4th visit and $1600.00 the rain leak spread to a 2nd floor ceiling without one bit of slowing at the original location.
The 1st visit they caulked a tv cable and looked at the roof. The charge $268.00
On the 2nd visit they placed a 3'X8' piece of roll roofing on the roof. The charge $970.00
Very expensive for a negative result. The leak increased and was now also coming through the 2nd floor bedroom ceiling.
The 3rd visit they caulked cracks on the exterior wall which was also very expensive. The charge $367.00
The 4th visit of about 1/2 hour they did more caulking but said it was included in the 3rd visit charge.
I have no problem with the caulking visits but I should have shopped around because I could have saved 1/2 of their chages with several other contractors who probably would have fixed the leak.
They did offer a 5th visit but I declined because I knew where it was going.
All of their work was a waste of time and money and the leak was worse.
In the end, my wife and I went on the roof, swept the gravel away and applied Blackjack roof sealant.
We spent two hours of time and $40 in material.
The leak was stopped and we now have peace of mind
Response from The Rain Leak Pro

"This customer threatened a negative Angie's List review if I did not give him warranty service on a new leak that was not covered under warranty. I declined to do additional work for him because of his threatening attitude and this review, full of misleading and downright false information, is the result."

It was an unsatisfactory experience.
Response from The Rain Leak Pro

"The actual cost was $720 for two visits, including materials. There was no charge for the third visit, when I determined that the remaining leakage would be best handled by a door specialist. Regarding the delays, it is true that because I do all of the analysis in person, there is sometimes a significant wait in the middle of the rainy season."

I had a good experience and was glad to have an independent assessment of where our actual problem was. I am sure a roofing company would have been happy to tell me I need a new roof. :). Now I am happy to know that I only a 2 windows to repair/replace.

The office was very friendly when I called for an appointment.  I think their website is informative.  Doug was on time, professional, competent and pleasant.  He inspected both areas and determined that the problem was backed up, poorly placed gutters that were allowing water to move up under the eaves and into a roof seam.  He put some sealant on the seams, pulled a handful of gunk out of the gutters, advised me to get the gutters serviced annually, and explained what needed to be repaired.  He did not perform the rest of the repair work himself (adjusting gutter placement and repairing/repainting the damaged ceiling area inside at the leak) but I know now what type of service person to call, and am very happy that I'm only paying for this and not a new roof!

I found out about Dough while photographing in the desert. I saw the sign on his truck and asked if he could come to our house and check out our leaks. He followed up by email the following week and we set an appointment. He arrived right on time. I showed him the leaks and he went to work. He quicklihy assessed the situation and presented a very rational explanation of the cause of the leaks along with two specific recommendations of things we can do to resolve it. He was not in a position to repair the leaks himself but I understand that when he has the materials he can also do the job. My wife is going to be very we know what's causing the leaks and will be able to get them taken care of.
