Joe gave me a competitive quote and did the work promptly. He returned twice to make sure everything was working well . He also gave me info on how to maintain my pool and what problems to look for.

The problem with Joe Z is he starts the work for you and leaves for another project midway and doesn't come back to finish yours until you threaten to take legal action against him.  Joe estimated 4 days to finish.  They showed up 2 days later than the original date.  They made very good progress the first two days digging up everything then he told us he had to address another client's need.  He said he is rebuilding a pool for that client and he left her hanging for 2 days in order to work on our pool and he had to go back to keep her happy.  He promised to come back later next day.  He did not show up as promised and  not next day either. He did not returning my numerous phone calls.   I finally threaten to sue and they came back the next day and finished the rest of the work in 2 days.  Even though we are pleased the spa was fixed but the experience and stress throughout the whole process was not a pleasant one.  

Also, 1 months later, the water level in the spa was down again.   I called Joe and he said he will come by next day to check.   He did not come, of course, and not returning my phone calls either.  I had to get somebody else to fix it.  The by-pass valve he installed was bad which should have been under warranty work.    I will definitely not hire him to do any work in the future.   You always heard about those horrible contractors that start your project and leave you hanging out there to dry, Joe is the one that proved that there is really such contractors.

They ended up removing the plastering in the pool.  They were really slow.  I found out that they were not a real pool company.  They removed some concrete on the pool deck that was peeling.  It took them a lot of time.  They did not know how to do the work, and I ended up showing them how to do it, and it finally got done.  I didn’t burn much money.  They are only licensed to do concrete work.  I tried to salvage the job, but even on interviewing the plaster person I found out that he wasn't qualified.  It just did not go the way it should have gone.  My experience was an unfortunate one.  On their card they said that they did plastering of pools.  They misrepresented their services.  Their pricing was in line with the estimates that I got from other pool people.  I had thought they were honest, but they weren’t.  They were also very unprofessional.
