SMT's Cleaning and Lawn Care Service

Same as the review dated 7/12.

I was initially very impressed with the owner, Shanae, who promptly responded to my inquiry and came out and gave us a fair quote and good expectations for what we were asking.  The cost for the house cleaning was $95, and each visit for lawn services was $60.  After the first visit, I was still impressed.  The house cleaning was great, and the yard looked good.  We retained them for service for approximately 3 months. 
However, the problem came down to the yard work.  Whenever Shanae was there, it went well, but on the alternate weeks, it was sloppy.  The yard would be mowed, but no edging would be done, and grass clippings were left everywhere.  Based on the fact that at least when she was supervising it looked good, I was willing to overlook that.  But one Friday I came home to find only the front yard mowed, and the lawn mower sitting in my back yard.  As this was not the first time service had been delayed due to equipment issues, I didn't think it was a big deal, and expected to either receive a call or see them the following day (Sat).  Neither happened.  Instead, on Monday they came back, sloppily finished mowing the back yard (no edging, weed-wacking or blowing out clippings) and left a bottle of motor oil.  At that point, my husband and I decided to stop the lawn care, so I called Shanae and left a message explaining what had happened and our reasoning for stopping lawn care.  I did state that I'd love for the housecleaning to continue since they'd been doing such a great job with that.
Since then I have left 6 messages with the company via their website, voicemail and Facebook page, and have yet to receive a response.  I am taking this to mean they no longer want my business, which is fine.  However, I am upset at the lack of professionalism in how they chose to do this, and the fact that I have yet to get my house-key back.  I thought I had a very good relationship with the company, and was distressed by how this ended.  Based on the fact that the key has yet to be returned, I also plan on contacting the better business bureau, and possible contacting a small claims lawyer to have them pay for the cost of re-keying the entire house for safety reasons.

I was very pleased with the work that SMT did for me. The owner was on-site for this initial visit and they worked very hard to do all of the "chores" that you expect with housekeeping, in addition to a few things I specifically asked for. I have a dog who loves to lick the glass on our patio door when she is outside and they made sure to clean the outside glass for me, so appreicated! The owner had come out to do an initial inspection. She is quite nice and really listened to me as we toured the house, therefore, she understood what I needed and I was quite pleased with the results. I will begin having SMT come to work on a regular basis and look forward to their next visit:)

Very well. The owner is a very nice person. We even got her teenage daughter to babysit our kids and she was great as well.

I think we spent way too much for the service. We spent an initial fee of $360 for the the initial cleaning and then it was $120 per cleaning. It was a little steep. They did a good job though. The owner of the company sub hired other people to work for her. Sometimes she came to do the job herself. When she came to do it herself, she did a great job. When she sent those she hired, it was sub par.

The owner was extremely professional and spent time going through the house while I pointed out several specific things that needed to be done.  Their priced quote was also very reasonable for the work I was requesting ($155 for cleaning 4 BR house, including the carpets).  When I returned home after they had cleaned, I realized several things weren't done (ceiling fans, door frames, corners, etc.).  Although they said they cleaned the carpets, that didn't look like it had been done in most rooms, either.  It was difficult to reach a person to talk to about my concerns.  Someone did come back to the house and clean the door frames/doors, but not the ceiling fans.  After several days of playing phone tag and increasing frustration, I requested and received a partial refund.

If I could rate this experience on a scale from 1 to 10, it would be a 12.

Specifically requested floor polishing and cobweb removal. Very obviously not done, bathroon not done, and others. I had to redo. Very much to her credit, the owner called back when i left an unhappy message and promised to provide me another cleaning at no charge at my convenience with another crew. Because the house was on the market i couldnt wait to really need them again for a awhile, however after all my stuff was moved out it needed another going over. Again, i specifically pointed out that Swiffering my floors was not adequate (which is all they did the first time) and especialy where the rugs had sat on the wood floors-some form of polish needed to even the polished/dull areas out and a good wipe out of the now empty cabinets. My agent checked it out for me, neither was done--swiffered again. The baths were cleaned this time but despite the price i would not use again since my specific requests continued to be unsatisfied.   Another positive was the way they called to check in when they arrived and when they were to depart.  That did not happen the second time, but i told them the house was vacant so maybe they felt it unnecessary--which was ok. 

They tolerate my animals and do a good job.  They always show up on time and have been very flexible with the scheduling.

They did a great job. They were fast and thorough, and the quality of service was excellent. I had no problems at all. They did a little extra too; I did not ask them to, but they cleaned the shower door while they were here. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

CLEANED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.  VERY PROFESSIONAL...

It went ok. The owner of yhe house wanted a couple of things gone over a second time. The first time wasn't the same standard of what the base housing use when people move out.

Shanae' and her team were fabulous! She met me at my house at the exact time I had requested and walked through each room of the house as I pointed out different little quirks in each room, especially the poor little petrified frog in the wet-bar area. She called me the following day with the price quote and I told her to start as soon as possible. She made me feel very much at ease about hiring a cleaning company to clean my home and instructed me to forget about trying to finish what I had been trying to accomplish for the last 3 weeks. She met me at my office the day of the cleaning to pick up the key and garage door opener. She called me as she and her employee were entering the home. The next time I heard from her was to let me know that they would be finished in approximately 1 hour, being approximately the time that I would pull up in the driveway after getting off work. When I arrived at the house, the garage door was down and the carport door to the house was locked. This made me feel good to know that she valued my personal belongings that are in the garage as well as the safety of her employee and herself. We walked through the house together as I inspected each room. When we reached the master bedroom where the wet-bar area is, she proudly announced that "my little friend" was no longer there and had been disposed of properly! All of the blinds had been dusted, window sills cleaned, cobwebs removed, and you could actually tell what color the floors were! Then she threw me for a complete loop when she opened the door to the hot water heater to show me that they had even cleaned that closet, the platform that it sits on and the pan under it. That was something I definitely did not expect to see. I was so thrilled to see no more streaks on the mirrors in the bathrooms. After we finished "the grand tour", she even helped me take all of the trash cans to the curb since the following day was trash pick-up day, even though it was all stuff that I had put in the trash cans during the week before she cleaned the house. She is really great at moving furniture too, as she helped me move a recliner from the front bedroom into the living room. She definitely went above and beyond for me on this job. I will definitely put her at the top of my list and give her the highest marks possible. JOB WELL DONE! Thanks Shanae'!

The girl was wonderful. They gave me an excellent price, they were there right when they said they were going to be, and they brought all of their own cleaning stuff. Shanae was very nice and very prompt. We estimated that the job would take a day but it took longer. They came back and finished it up with no problems and they were very nice about it.

Is there a rating above excellent? I have never experienced a problem. I give them the keys and the work is done to my satisfaction. The staff is very professional, very detailed, customer service-oriented, and they do excellent work. The prices are as quoted. No bait and switch. I highly recommend this provider and look forward to using their services again.
