"This member was comparing our company's service to her anecdotal accounts from friends and acquaintances, which was complicating our communication. This member purchased 1 week lab results, but was comparing our turnaround to someone else that got his or her lab results the next day. Note: We offer a Next Day Lab Results that she could have purchased if she wanted a faster turnaround. Our contract and website stipulates that reports could take 10 business days to produce, which is especially true for 1 week lab results that can include two weekends and a holiday in some instances. We delivered our product based on the turnaround time she paid for and in accordance with our company policy. We did encourage the member to shop elsewhere for her next service because it would be counterproductive for her to complain about our service when her sphere of influence is telling her she can get better service elsewhere. We don't see why she would be insulted that she would be encouraged to shop elsewhere if she didn't like the service she received. The point of this review is that if you're hiring a company that promotes same day service, you should be prepared to pay for expedited results. If that's what you really want. I immediately contacted SAME DAY MOLD COMPANY, spoke to Tiesha and Jason and requested them to conduct a mold test. On September 3rd. I sent an E mail to Jason asking him to conduct 4 mold tests..... and one more test that would help in finding out where the mold came from.I sent him a photo of the mold that was growing in the duct work and specifically requested him to test the ducts in the living room, also to test the area near the water heater where the leak was detected. HE DID NOT DO THIS. What he did was to test one carpet sample and conducted 4 AIR tests. We all know that this was the easiest thing to do, it would have required more effort to conduct the other tests which I requested.In addition, he conducted a air test outside the condo...which I did not authorize. Why not go to McDonalds down the street, conduct five air tests and bill me because you deemed it to be appropriate?
When questioned, Jason said that my son who was present agreed to four AIR tests...and since he was my representative, he did what was asked. THIS NOT TRUE.. My son did not authorize it and he was just there to let them into the condo. If, lets say, a janitor, let them into my condo, would he become my representative? What Jason wanted to do was conduct 4 easy tests....and requested my son to authorize more tests at 75.00..which was refused. DISHONEST AND GREEDY COMPANY.
"This customer was upset because he tried to make us refund the money after his son authorized a different set of tests than he requested in his email. They were not entirely different, just different enough for him to use it as a wedge issue to request a refund when he didn't like the results. The email he's referring to was addressed during the on-site inspection and our sampling recommendation included the samples he requested. But we also recommended several other samples. There were two representatives from SDMT on site (myself included) and both witnessed the authorization by the son. He wanted to focus on air quality because of the tenant complaint. The air ducts had nothing to do with the ceiling leak in the living room. There was suspected mold in a bedroom vent too, a completely different section of the unit. This customer was trying to get his condo repaired at the expense of the HOA and/or the unit above. Other companies told him the vents had nothing to do with the leak. He still wanted to push the issue because of the tenant concern. It was likely the freelance approach (cutting it out with no containment established to prevent cross contamination) to repairing the living room ceiling that produced an acute reaction in the tenant. The customer was upset that he didn't get results to support an assignment of blame to the unit above, HOA or comment on the health effects to his tenant. He was especially upset that I refused to do additional business with him because of his condescending attitude towards our company. So he figures he'll trash our company because he didn't get documentation that satisfied his agenda. He is misrepresenting his email as if it were some type of ironclad instruction of what to do. He fails to mention that he said he wanted our recommendations in addition to his sampling ideas. We performed a thorough inspection of the entire unit, made sampling recommendations, collected the samples his son authorized and provided a written report at a discounted rate. That can hardly be considered greedy. But, to each his own. His non sequitur rants (McDonalds and janitor??) are evidence of his frustration with the whole process he is dealing with. But we used sound logic in our inspection methodology and sampling protocol. He decided to have his son represent his interests during the inspection. We followed the instructions we were given and performed our job accordingly. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion so we are not mad at this customer's grade. We would have liked to satisfied this customer, but it seemed like a no-win for us at the outset. Still we tried to provide useful information about the condition of his condo unit. We encourage members to look beyond the grade to determine if the issues encountered by this customer would be a concern you have for your mold inspection.
