"Thanks for your great review [Member Name Removed]! It was a pleasure to help you and your family get up and running on solar power!"
From the initial phone contact the owner, Jim, asked questions that 5 other providers had not. Everyone from Solar City to Peterson Dean wanted to know my historical energy usage and not much more before recommending a system and quoting a price. Jim took the time to discuss how I was using my energy. He made recommendations to change my pool pump, look at my HVAC system, change lighting wherever possible; we even discussed my energy sucking plasma TV. He recommended I implement some changes and call back in a few months to see if I really need as large a system as other providers were trying to sell me. Also, he was the only representative to date that could answer all of my technical and other operational questions; others said they would need an engineer to get back to me.
Another factor in my decision was the contract. I've actually been to the point of signing with a couple of providers but after reviewing the contract, I could not agree to the terms. Jim's contract was much more fair and balanced. In the end I was able to meet my new energy needs with a smaller system at a much lower cost.
Jim's crew showed up on time, were very detailed, neat and clean. If you are a type A detailed person like me, I highly recommend
Run on Sun.
"Thanks for the great review [Member Name Removed]! Glad the solar system is meeting your needs!"

"Thank you for taking the time to review our work, it is greatly appreciated."
The other larger companies I received quotes from referred me to an in-house support person for technical questions. Run on Sun was the only company that provided me with accurate information about the various solar technologies and was not locked in to a single vendor product line. Run on Sun's small size compared to bigger companies was a big advantage.
Run on Sun did an on-site roof survey prior to making a proposal and their answers were always detailed. For example, while the equipment they installed is warranted for 25 years, the system financial payback estimate was for only 20 years - As Jim explained, the SCE Net Metering rate that allows me to sell my excess power back to SCE is only good for 20 years. Jim was also very upfront in how age effects solar panels. Run on Sun provided the most conservative estimates of return on investment and power output. They advised me that both will likely be higher, but that I should base my decision on the more conservative numbers, and to take into account the effects of panel aging.
My system has now been in operation for almost a year - 11 months - and it has exceeded my expectations.
In the 11 full months since my system went into operation, my total SCE bill was $82.25 for the eleven months, or an average of $7.47 a month, as compared with my bills for the same 11 months during 2013 and 2014 of $ 3,550 or $322.75 a month.
My actual savings were 14% more than the Run on Sun forecast. Even with declining output over the 20 years of projected operation, my total savings will still exceed the Run on Sun estimate and the basis for my investment decision.
I have not had a single service issue. The system includes constant monitoring of each of the 30 panels and micro inverters, and once, when my network was down for a couple days, Jim called to make sure everything was ok.
I really could not be more pleased with Run on Sun. They really know what they are doing, they are honest to a fault, and they did exactly what they said they would do. As long as Jim Jenel is in charge, I can recommend them without reservation.
"Hi [Member name removed]- Thanks so much for the wonderful review. It was great working with you! I would point out for folks who read this, your home was a quite unusual installation as part of your roof is flat (calling for a ballasted solution) and part of it is a raised seam metal roof (which you can see in the pictures). Thanks again... Run on Sun"
"Thanks, [Member name removed], for taking the time to write - we really do appreciate your kind words. Best regards... Run on Sun"
