She was just amazing. Our 13 or 14 year old very large very infirm dog had been failing for a long time and had been having a harder and harder time just getting up. We realized one day that it was time so we called and she was able to come that very day, thank goodness. We had him in our bedroom, on pillows on the floor. Dr. Holmes got right down on the floor with all of us, talked with us, talked about the procedure. Then when we went ahead with it she made our beloved dog comfortable and then put him down. She left the room after she confirmed he was gone so we could sob. She respectfully took him from our house (we assisted with this because he was so large) and she is having him cremated for us. She was great. We are so happy he was able to leave comfortably and at home, with no fear or anxiety whatsoever.

As emotionally trying as the decision to euthanize a pet can be, Dr. Holmes made the situation so much more bearable by her kindness and professionalism. I knew that my beloved feline companion of twelve years was terminally ill and declining quickly, and I also knew how terrified she would be spending her last moments at the vet office. As a result, I decided to call Dr. Holmes and investigate in-home euthanasia as an option. She was incredibly understanding, helping to me to assess quality-of-life factors and decide when might be the best time to say goodbye to my pet. When it became clear that my cat's pain was diminishing enjoyment of even her favorite things, I called Dr. Holmes again and she was able to come to the house that same day. My husband and I really appreciated Dr. Holmes' gentle handling of our cat,and how she carefully explained exactly what we would expect during the euthanasia. She did not rush us and was very respectful of our grieving state when the task was over. As a result, I spent the last fleeting moments with my sweet cat in our own, quiet home, with her resting in my lap. I am very grateful to Dr. Holmes for helping us provide our dying pet some dignity and peace in what would otherwise have been a miserable experience for all.

Our terrier was blind and very quickly declining from diabetes. It would have been stressful to take him to the clinic with the kids and all. Dr. Holmes was wonderful - warm, thoughtful and kind. She made a really difficult day OK for all of us, especially our dog. She also helped us months later with one of our cats.
