My heater went out in my house. Based on a friend's recommendation I had them come out and take a look. They were very throughout and explained my options. After getting a couple quote I decided to go with George Haney and & Sons based on their reviews and how helpful they were in explaining my options. They came out and replaced my heater and thermostat, the Project Manager Lyman and the techs were all very polite, were on time, did what they said they were going to do and explained any questions I had and I am very happy with the results.

They have done our regular heating and air conditioning maintenance for years. They are professional. The servicemen have gotten familiar with our system. It takes them about an hour and a half to complete which is reasonable for our house. The workers are professional and competent.

Actually I used them like 4 or 5 years ago, then I used them about 3 or 4 months ago and I was not satisfied so I switched. They didn't get back to me when I asked them to get back to me.

The repairman originally told me that he would have to disassemble the housing to get to the wood.  This would cost additional expense since of the time to do the job, but was able to reduce the cost by finding away to remove the wood by not disassembling the unit.  this substantially reduce the cost.

This company was the one which originally sold and installed the current window air conditioner in 1985, before I bought the house in 1998.  I basically never used the air conditioner until last year, when I had a new dog who suffered from the heat.  Having been unused and unmaintained, the air conditioner didn't work.  I had this company send a technician, who said it was out of coolant and replaced it while warning me this might be a temporary fix, that there might be a leak.  Sure enough, the unit worked well for two days or so, and then all the coolant must have leaked out.  So this March, I made an appointment with the head of the company to give me an estimate for replacing the old unit. He came out with material showing me two possible air conditioners in the Friedrich line, and looked the situation over.  He also ascertained that I was not interested in anything more than just a single window unit.  He left without giving me an estimate for installation.  This was on a Thursday.  The following Mon or Tues, I called to let him know which unit I wanted, the cheaper one, and he said he'd get back to me.  I called again on Friday, and he said he was having trouble getting the unit I wanted and would call me back.  I waited another week, during which I looked for this unit online and saw it advertised for sale at several places, notably Amazon.  I called again during business hours, only got voice mail, and left a message telling him it was available online, I'd really like it installed, and to please call me back.  I never heard from him.  I tried calling the company one more time during business hours and again only got the voice mail.
I was very disappointed in such bad service and such a waste of my time, despite this company's history with my house.  That said, the ownership has changed since the 1985 installation, which was well-done.  Maybe the new owner never called back because the project was too small, but he should have said that in my original call and saved both of us time and myself aggravation.

Really well.  He came over; gave us an estimate on the spot.  We got three other bids, but he was the only one that gave us an "on the spot" bid. 
He told us the roof material looked like it was in good shape, and just wasn't attached correctly.  He was VERY straightforward about the process and what was required.  We hired him and he showed up the next day and reattached the roof.
We've now been through several wind and rainstorms since that point, and the roof has held on quite nicely - no leaks, no flapping noises, etc.
As an added bonus, George told us they were going to put a reflective coating . . . I didn't think much about it .. . BUT fast forward to August and September, the room that was over the roof that they recoated was NOTICEABLY cooler.

As another review stated this company has the service of a 1950s company with cutting edge technology. Frank and David went through every part of the system and serviced those parts that needed servicing. They originally put the system in and in the 10 years I have only had to do routine maintenance. They performed a coolant level check, changed the filters, looked at the duct cleanliness, serviced parts that had a Squeak, and generally made the system continue it's flawless performance. The thing I liked is they were finished with last job early and called to see if they could come directly. Nice touch. I will use them when I change to a NEST system.

This installation needed to be coordinated with a complete re-roof of the house done by Above It All Roofing. George Haney and sons is a pretty laid-back company that handled the coordination in stride and did a great job.
They walked us through the house, discussed the vent placement, sent us three estimates for different levels of HVAC equipment with the differences clearly marked. I really wanted to install the NEST learning thermostat, and this permitted me to select equipment that would coordinate with that device.
When they actually came out to do the work, I was greatly pleased with the kindness and level of professionalism. They really reminded me of a company from the 50's, or rather how they're supposed to have been. Super professional and polite, always listening to our concerns or questions without batting an eye. They were here for many days, as it was a big job to run all the vents.
The AC came online very fast and was really enchanting to use for the first time. Made us see the house anew again, instead of the summer sweatbox it had been. When we had questions about smells, or small holes left places, etc. they sent someone out that day who took care of it all kindly and well.
Definitely highly recommended. We did not shop their price extensively, as we were pretty drained of that experience after selecting a roofer, but it seemed in line from on-line estimates I was exploring at the time. But the quality makes us feel confident of the price.

Joe came out and did the estimate; he was very thorough explaining what kind of system could be used and gave me a step by step breakdown of the process. He was punctual, polite and very informative. The guys that actually came out to do the work (Robert and Douglas) were prompt, conscientious, polite, and friendly. Every day they were here they kept me up on the progress. They did an immaculate job of cleaning up too. My whole experience with all the people associated with this company has been an extremely positive one.

Joe Henry came out from this company to do the estimate.  This guy knew a lot about his field.  He worked up a great package, looked closely at the house and the layout.  Was also very good at finding rebates and incentives to optimize the deal.  Ultimately didn't go with them because their finance rates were too high and this project was a surprise for me so I didn't have the chance to pay cash.  If I had planned for this I would have used them.  Joe was awesome.  On time, knowledgeable, polite.  Really great.

This company had maintained the HVAC previously for a house we purchased in May 2010. I called in November 2010 to request service on a furnace. The customer service person was unprofessional and immediately stated that a basic service call was $140 for the first hour. No guaranties that the work would be completed during that time period. This was the case unless I obtained a service contract with them. She was much more interested in selling me a service contract than providing the basic furnace maintenance I required.

FIRST CONTACT 9/2009. Extremely professional, high quality work, friendly and informative. Repaired AC and inspected the entire system. While inspecting the system, found that attic fan motor was seized up/inoperable and attic full of ash, both likely due to our being 40 yards from the Station Fire line. Ducts could not be cleaned due to age and disintegration. At owner's request, performed a computerized duct test and found 30% cooling/heating loss before air reached the registers. Emailed a very complete report including all computer read outs, detailed estimate for repairs and recommendations. Also advised on post-Station Fire insurance coverage for attic cleaning/duct work repair which I would not have known. 2nd CONTACT 4/2010. Owner requested replacement of ducts and attic fan. Lyman (president of company) honored price estimate of 8 months prior. Workers continued to be on time, communicative, informative, professional and friendly. Re-performed the duct test as part of the cost. Test results came back several percentage points under current environmental legal limits (less than 5% loss). The new duct work was so efficient and improved that we had to turn the furnace off after 10 minutes that night! Installed new electric switch box for attic fan at no extra charge. Followed up via phone call to check on how it was working. After I mentioned that some of the farther rooms weren't warming up as fast, discussed grill options that would increase efficiency and control of air flow direction in each room. On day of permit inspection, came with new vent grills for every room and installed them at no charge as they'd been able to obtain a new attic fan at a reduced rate due to a minor dent in the housing (which they had shown to me and gotten permission to install). I've not seen this quality and pride in workmanship in 35 years, and never in SoCal. Very thorough, efficient, professional, legal, and educational on insurance, environmental standards, ways to cut energy use and costs. Incredible follow-up with return visits (no extra charge) to double check/adjust air flow from new vent grills. I am blown away and could not recommend this company highly enough. You will get experienced, quality, professional, permitted work completed at a competitive price.

It was initially frustrating to have a second visit scheduled just to change a filter. However, when changing the filter the tech noticed that the house was cold. He checked and found the furnace off. He then quickly diagnosed the problem with the pump, and was able to replace it immediately. It was great to have a tech who was so knowledgeable and efficient. I will continue to use this company for my heating and AC needs.
