Jack is a miracle worker!  He came in and finished a remodel nightmare started by a family member, who was a licensed contractor, in 2011.  He walked into a mess and hardly any budget.  In a nutshell, my previous contractor wiped us out financially and did not finish the job.  Jack came and did wonders with the small budget we had to finish.  He and all his subcontractors were on time, professional, pleasant and honest.  He communicated with me and kept me up to date with all that was going on.  It wasn't an easy job due to the fact that some things weren't done correctly to begin with by the previous contractor and he had to deal with the City of L.A. which is never fun.  
He finished molding throughout the house, a bedroom, bathroom, 2 decks, and a subpump, this all included plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting.  We could never thank him enough for finally giving us our completed home.  His work is amazing and that he did it with the budget we had is even more amazing.  He was very realistic in letting me know what we could finish with the monies we had.  No surprises other than some curve balls thrown by the city.  
Jack is an extremely hard worker and most importantly honest.  Working with him after working with my previous contractor was night and day.  Jack knows his stuff and how to run his business and really takes pride and cares about his work, subcontractors and reputation.   I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and cannot imagine working with another contractor in the future.

They did have to come back to fix a couple things but were gracious and accommodating. They did a good job.

Robert's behavior was extremely unprofessional. Intolerable.
When I told Jack about it, he said he couldn't believe Robert would behave in such an obtuse manner. He said he would continue to hire him because he had a good record, but recent person problems! I told Jack I was concerned for other unsuspecting women who may hire him in the future and need electrical work done. Warning, if you don't want problems, ask that he not send and quot;Robert Electricand quot; to your home.

For 2 months all the work went well. Jack communicates very responsively, is very timely and honest about all the work. He is professional beyond my expectations. He is genuinely interested in the craftsmanship, and design appeal the finished work. He will have contractors redo portions of the work a that don't meet his standards, even though it may have been passed by an inspector.
For example, two large timber beams were added by the framers to support the roof line extending overt the porch. When I saw it, I thought the crack in the exposed end was unattractive, but my husband explained that this is common in a large beam and that it is not an indication of a future problem. So it was safe, but not as attractive. We never mentioned it to Jack, but when he saw what the framer had done, he told him to redo it, turning the beam end for end to expose the clean side. It was so much prettier!.
So He is a great guy to work with, but it was unfortunate about the last week to have the incident with his electrician. Otherwise, all went better than expected.

Jack Ramirez (Casa Bonita Builders) is the opposite of every contractor horror story you may have heard. To quote him: "When I take a job, I treat the home like it is my home." He means it. We met Jack shortly after we closed escrow on our home. We needed an extensive remodel done on time. Our lease would run out in two months and the home had to be remodeled for move in by then. Jack met every deadline to keep things on track. Guys worked on weekends and the Fourth of July to make it happen. He finished the job on time and with results that exceeded our expectations. Jack is exceptionally professional. He is very accessible. He doesn't just return your calls promptly, he answers when his phone rings. He takes the time to point out important information along the way so you can make informed decisions, and his advice holds up. We were very pleased.
