He was excellent. He did the pest inspection and an inspection for dry rot and he found we had a water leak.

Excellent local business. Easy to communicate with, easy to work with, honest, meticulous, fair prices. I recommend John Kunkel and his crew wholeheartedly -- especially over the larger termite control businesses that also provide services in the area.

We had other termite people come who basically tried to sell me a house and charge thousands of dollars and he was willing to come in and deal with the local problem. He thought there was a reasonably good chance that would take care of the problem. As a result the overall cost was less than some other quotes that we got. He was a pleasant guy and did good work. He did what he said he was going to do for the amount he said. This was just done a couple of months ago so we don't know if it has taken care of the problem but he said if it didn't that he would come back for free.

John arrived on time and conducted a thorough inspection very professionally. He explained things clearly and we were happy with the result. He also gave us a proposal to fix a problem he discovered. Everything would have been perfect but the written report was couched with so many exceptions and weasel words about what he didn't inspect that I felt a bit let down. Why hadn't he asked for better access to areas if he needed it? Instead he issued a report which was significantly less encouraging than his verbal summary immediately after the inspection. Not with any new facts, just a litany of what he didn't inspect. This may be standard but it feels a bit swarmy.
Response from Termite Police
"Unfortunately when we (ALL termite control companies) inspect a home, we can only see approxamately 20% of any wood framing. Garages with alot of storage, attics with alot of "blown in" insulation and second floor roof eaves are impossible to inspect (the state will not allow a termite inspector to climb up on a roof) so we need to mention all the areas that were "inaccessible for inspection". However, here at Termite Police, we offer to go back and inspect areas that were mentioned as inaccessible for FREE if the customer can make room by clearing excessive storage away. If we do not mention areas we could not inspect on an inspection report, interested parties always assume that we inspected all areas and found nothing wrong because nothing was reported."
