Lew's Peninsula Lock & Key

Lew is a total delight, providing old-fashioned service in a cluttered shop where he can lay his hands on anything he wants. He is a true relic of the hippy era, but has extensive knowledge and expertise.

I'd purchased two lock sets from this company a couple of years ago, intending to install them myself. But when I went to actually do the work, it looked more complicated than I'd anticipated. So I phoned the same locksmith to come to the house and do the installation. I was able to make an appointment for a few days later, and the day of the appointment, Lew phoned before he came to the house. He installed the lock sets very efficiently and quickly, explaining to me the difference between the old and new lock sets and giving me a clear demonstration of how to operate the locks. The locks had previously been keyed to the old keys and the new keys cut the same, and he made sure all keys --- old and new --- worked properly.

I walked into the shop with two locks that needed to be re-keyed. They did the job quickly and to my satisfaction. They even through in a couple of extra keys.

I think that he is mobile; you can call him and he will come out. I think he also has a small shop. I have used him for years. He came out to fix a lock at my mother?s place. She had also lost her car key. So, he did the car key, while he was there. He is easy-going. He has been in business since 1970?s. I just love him. I send him to all my tenants. He even helped my sister, when she got locked out of her house. He went and let her in. He has a New York accent. He is very pleasant and very qualified. He knows the advanced lock systems. He is very good at dealing with my tenants. He is very funny and charming. He really knows his stuff. Since I have a lot of rental units, I have used him on several occasions over the years. The tenants are very comfortable with him. He gives them what they need, but he always makes sure to ask me first about the charges.

He was prompt and professional. He does a good job. He is also fast and very responsive. I would recommend him to other people. He is dependable and a very good guy. It was free because he was just passing by my house. He is a very nice guy. If he can't do a job for you, he will find someone for you. He is very honest.

They unlocked my car door. It didn't take but a minute. I think they're expensive, but all locksmiths are. One time they came out and had to remove the dashboard and steering column. That was really expensive. They had to get behind the ignition. But this time they were able to unlock it from the door.
