I did end up calling another service with good reviews that quoted me half the amount. I'm insulted and angry that he would try to take such advantage of me. Very unprofessional.
UPDATE:
The owner of G & G had called twice attempting to resolve the "misunderstanding" with I think a sincere gesture to come for an estimate and also sincere apology explaining there was a misunderstanding. Yes, I acknowledge cleaning a couch professionally and with good results is time consuming and hard work. I am the type of person to appreciate that and would try to be fair. He explained that he needed to estimate high and adjust the price accordingly so that the customer wouldn't be upset about a misquote. I do feel his frustration. In this area, I know that's a problem for people performing a service -- being taken advantage of and being asked for "best price."
I can acknowledge there was a misunderstanding between us and we can both learn from it.
"Hello [Member Name Removed], My sincere apology if I misunderstood the scope of the work that you called about and I may have overestimated it. It is not in my intention to take any advantage, for that I really apologize and I'm sorry that we lost your trust. I have built my reputation for over 35 years on trust, honesty and professionalism, I really hope that you will consider my services in the future. I'll reach out to you as well and if there is anything I can do to earn your trust, please let me know. Best Regards Jim Garabedian"
