LOWE'S

Description of Work: We had a local company do the replacement service. We purchased a Whirlpool water heater that had an 8 year warranty, from Lowe's about 2.5 years ago. The water heater failed in March of this year. I called Whirlpool, and they asked for the receipt. I could not find it, so the first rep. said there was "nothing we can do." The waterheater has a serial number and date of manufacturer which I provided. The rep. was uncooperative and refused to honor the warranty. I called again. The second rep was worse than the first. He insisted that the warranty had expired. Considering the information that I had, this was an absurd answer. We will never buy another Whirlpool appliance! I called up Lowe's and they said that they would replace it at no charge if we would bring it to them. Since this was not practical under our circumstances, we called a local company and had a Bradford-White waterheater installed. I believe both the local company and the manufacturer will stand behind this 8 year warranty.
