Because of budget constraints, the customer did all of the trenching, wall openings both inside and outside of the house, and some minimal concrete cutting. The customer also did all the repair work to close walls, stucco, and final finishing.
Of six bids from different plumbing firms, three refused to recognize the massive reduction in labor, time, and subcontractor needs and quoted a price for doing all of those despite most having been done at the time of quotation. (two of those were from Angie's List). Two did not respond after looking at the greatly simplified job. Best Price Plumbers quoted exactly what the customer expected the cost to be and was awarded the job. Very personable, co-operative plumber. I would use him again and recommend him. Plumber was always on time, stayed in touch, and worked fast.
