Our pool turned out great especially the Pebble Tec and tile. The design fit into our yard and the match of the concrete is perfect. The crew was amazing and they always left the yard clean. The salt water and solar heat are perfect for swimming. The price was a little more than we hoped for, but it was worth it.

The quality was good. I wouldn't recommend them. It was terrible to actually get the project done. They were supposed to be done by the beginning of November and it wasn't done until January. I can't say how many phone calls it took to actually get the job done. The price was fine.

The only reason I did not give them an F is because they
actually finally finished the pool and it got permitted by the city. It took 6
months from signing to finish - which they told us would take 6-8 weeks. They
sold too many pools and didn't have the employees to handle it, so they would
send a few workers for a half day, here and there to placate us. They had to
re-do a lot of the work they did perform. They had to re-pour portions of the
colored concrete twice. Only the supervisor seemed to care (or at least said he
cared), but he seemed surprised that the workers hadn't done the work, each
time I called. I had to be VERY proactive. I should have been paid to
supervise!

The start up for the project was excellent but they had some parts in there where the clean up was slow and so I had to live with some trash in my yard for a while. But their excuse was every time they had brought a truck by it was full of trash already so I was about disappointed with that and I was also a little disappointed also with the way they fixed when they came with dust on my floor. The general manager promised that he would adjust on price on the project after this but he never did but overall I would say they got a real good deal. They also did the irrigation system. They showed up on time early and they came at the same time they said they would show up. They were professional and the deal that I got was professional except they changed the project manager right at the end of the project and he was somewhat professional.

I've used United States Pools (Palm Desert a.k.a. Pool Spa America) since 2008 for repair work and routine service of a large in-ground spa (gunnite and plaster).
Repair work included helping resolve a horrible mess with a pool controller manufacturer who would not honor their warranty but we got it repaired under warranty. They've replaced a broken light fixture, repaired broken conduit, cleaned filter, and incidentals Their prices for these were reasonable and quality fine. There were more delays than I'd like but none of these items were urgent. Their quote for tile cleaning was excessive so I did not hire them for this.
I also used them for more than a year to do weekly cleaning/service and was not satisfied with this. They did not use correct chemicals, despite my protests and frequent algae growth.
My grades average the good and bad. I recommend highly for repairs and low for routine service.

From start to finish it was very good. We did find other competitors that were less expensive, but we have heard good things about this company. There were a few things that came up during the re-model, but the addressed them right away and on we went. I must say it looks GORGEOUS NOW!! We are very pleased.

I was very disappointed with United States Pools performance on this project. I gave them every opportunity to remedy the situation by refunding the final payment considering how badly the project was managed. Ultimately, they reduced the total price by $400. The general manager (Michael Silverberg) also installed a concrete pad and installed the fire pit at no additional charge even though that was not part of the original contract. These items were something that my handyman was prepared to do for two hours worth of work ($80).
I went with this contractor over another, because I believed (incorrectly) that they would do the work within a week of getting the go ahead. I was on a tight schedule, and I communicated this to United States Pool which they used that to sell me on the project. After the sales part of the project, the general contractor and the general manager were generally unresponsive. They avoided my calls, using email and txt message when they did not want to speak with me.
Here are some of the things I did not appreciate:
- Delays cost me rental of the house for the weekend Nov 18 ($2000)
- Delays after I left for Chicago kept my property manager at the house for at least 4 hours ($160)
- Did not start construction until Nov 8 despite giving go ahead Nov 1
- Week of Nov 8 only worked part of the week
- Was difficult to reach general contractor when issues arose
- Installed 110v line instead of the 220v as requested
- Concrete pad was not staked out before concrete was delivered
- Concrete pad framing was initially bowed
- Went most of a day without hot water because the pilot light on the hot water heater was not relit
- Had to leave Palm Springs before the project was completed because it too 15 days instead of 5
Even though I appreciated:
- Concrete pad for fire pit
- Installation of fire pit
These courtesies did not make up for the aggravation and delays that you cost me. I would not recommend United States Pool. My guess is that they are doing business as United States Pool, because of such bad past performance as Pool Spa America.
