Harvey's Garage Door

Hector & Eric installed my two car garage door today and they were totally professional. Knowledgeable, efficient, punctual and made me feel comfortable about using these guys for the first time. I clearly made the right decision. Highly recommended. People who you can rely on!

My new opener is so quiet. I wish I had replaced my old chain opener years ago. Harvey's company did an excellent job

Everything was good about the experience except that they didn't explain. We ended up having to pay extra for the security pad on the outside. They didn't explain that. We asked if that included the pad and they said yes. They didn't make it clear and didn't explain it well so the cost was higher than the estimate. I thought the pricing was a little high.

Were about 3 hours off on arrival time, but crew arrived and did the work professionally. Cleaned up after their installation and gave the garage door a quick tune up. Also made sure our remotes were programmed properly. Overall very pleased and would use them again. Too soon to know if the insulation will help in the heat of La Quinta...  [Update - after two months of Summer heat I can say the money I spent insulating the door was very well spent!  When a hot car is parked inside the insulation might work against us so we leave the door open a crack, but our garage door faces west and the insulation definitely keeps some of the Direct sun heat on the door surface out and every little bit matters when it's 110+ degrees out there!]

This was the only garage door contractor on Angie's List with a grade and report in my area. I called and after being asked numerous questions about the door, was quoted a price of $185. I asked if that included parts? I was told it did, "Parts, labor, everything." When Javier got there, He said the door was 8 feet, he expected 6 feet. He called his boss and then kept on working. 20 min. into the job, he said he was going to have to charge $220, $35 more than quoted. He said the spring was going to cost $35 more. I went ahead with the work, but let him know I was VERY dissatisfied with the change in price and I did not think the spring was going to cost them that much more. ( On looking up spring prices on the Internet, It would have cost $10 more AT MOST. The physical job was done well and quickly. However, with the lack of professionalism with their price quotes, I can not recommend them and will not use them again.

Harvey's was the third call we made to companies advertising 24 hour emergency service and the first one to answer the phone (at 6:00 PM). They quoted $95 for the service call plus $170 for the after hours emergency service. Although $170 seemed high, we accepted and Frankie Amado arrived in 45 minutes. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and not only corrected the problem, but gave the door a maintenance 'check up'.
