We first contacted Claro when we were getting bids for a pool heater. The owner was professional, knowledgeable and the bid was very fair. Installation was done in a timely manner, everything was left looking clean and neat after the workers left. Best of all the heater works exactly as was promised. We'd also been looking for a new company to maintain our pool after our last experience (didn't come reliably, pool left dirty looking etc.) Their price was higher than the last folks, but after seeing the way our other work was handled we decided the extra money each week would be worth it. We couldn't be more pleased. First of all- they show up exactly when they say they are going to. Second, we get a text letting us know after they've come to the house. Finally, the chemicals are always spot on, pool cleanest it's been, technician is friendly and reliable. We'd definitely recommend Claro pools to others!

We initially hired Hire Standards, upon recommendation, to replace some of our pool equipment  in the summer of 2012 when we moved to Cathedral City.  They replaced our salt cell and our pool pump.  They were very responsive, explained in detail how everything worked and completed the work on schedule and on budget.  This fall, we needed our heater repaired so we called them.  Orlando came out to assess the situation.  After several attempts to repair the heater,  we were advised that the heater was probably on its last legs and we would save money, in the long run, by replacing it.  They installed a new heater at a reasonable price and we were not charged  for the repairs made on the old heater.  We had our water tested and found it had too much salt and the chlorine output was not enough.  We were using a different pool service and because of the good experience we had with Hire Standards we hired them to take care of our pool.  The first time the technician arrived, our pool was cleaned and looked better than it ever had.  The salt was balanced and our pool is again very usable.  Orlando has been very responsive, courteous, and has gone the extra mile to help us.  I would definitely recommend Hire Standards to our friends and neighbors without any hesitation.

This is a pretty good pool and spa service.  They service my property twice a week.  They send an email when they arrive at your property and another email when they leave.  This is good for me because I own a vacation home and it is nice to know that the service is actually being performed.  I have had some difficulty with getting them to do everything that I asked but now we are in sync and the spa looks great everytime I am in town.  Have patience with them and just explain what you require . Once they understand, they will do a great job.  They also discovered that the pump was not turning on and were able to fix it very quickly.  I would recommend this company for pool and spa weekly maintenance.

This is an excellent company.  When we bought our home the pool equipment was in terrible conditions. I did not realize this fact because our realtor recommended the pool be inspected by her pool person who was not qualified to do this task. I learned of her pool "experts" inadequacies the hard way. I brought in Hire Standards to correct my problems. They did a fine job at a reasonable price. I continue to use their services and have had nothing but excellent experiences with all of their personnel.

Over promised, under delivered.  Orlando, the sales rep tried hard to sell me things I did not want nor need.  Used lots of scare tactics.

We have been using their services for ten years. Higher Standards is a reliable pool company.  We have used their services for over ten years  and when issues present themselves, they are taken care of.  The representative  are courteous and timely.  I would recommend them as a pool company.

They have done an excellent job. I have been very pleased with the work they have done.

They are really good! They are very professional and more professional than essentially all of the one-man services. If anything goes wrong with the pool, they take care of it. They are always here on time and we really like them. Their costs may be higher than others, but I feel it is worthwhile. Their costs for repairs are half the price of their competition. They are very reliable and well managed.

They are very good, but they are on expensive end. If you call with a problem, they will come immediately. They are excellent!

Hire this pool service if you want to pay $140.00 per month in advance with your credit card and if you don't want any pool issues resolved and if you want to be sued.  If this does not scare you, hire them.
Just received a call from Hire Standards Pool Service that they are suing us for April and May pool service since we stopped automatic payments to them of $140.00.  I love the previous response of Hire Standard Pool Service to the previous review "there are always two sides of the story."  What kind of response is that.  That is exactly what I expect to receive as a response to our review.
First of all, we were paying Hire Standard Pool Service $140.00 per month for service and at the initial start-up, we paid them $399.00 for an overall assessment of our pool which did not accomplish anything but a pump that did not function like it had before we hired them.  Before we hired the pool service, our pool was like a river with the pump functioning.  After they performed their initial assessment of the pool, our pump never worked the same.  Our pool is a quite as a puddle now.  After the initial set-up, we argued with them over the pump not working properly.  I finally gave up as I could never get a reaction out of them.  They have no morals, they will lie to your face and on the telephone and promise you the world.  When they initially started cleaning the pool, the pool man stayed for literally 5 minutes and no more.  One day I went out and said that you need to clean the tile so he spent 1 more minute just to satisfy me which he did not do.  Then they sent another man that stayed about 30 minutes and I called the pool service and said that if he was not the one to clean my pool, then we would fire them.  They did at least let the same man clean the pool but not without problems.  We park both are cars on the driveway and the pool man never came to our door and said that he needed one of the cars pulled out in order to get his vaccum in.  Instead, he walked through our yard, broke a sprinkler and heavily marred the wall.  When we told the pool man that he broke a sprinkler, his resposne was "have your gardener fix it".  Well at that time, our gardener charged us to fix every sprinkler leak so my husband insisted on the pool service fixing the problem.  We also complained to the pool service that our wall needed fixing and we have not seen hide nor hair from them except to say that they are suing us for the last 2 months of service.  That is so ironic when my husband is a lawyer and we are not threatening to sue them for all the months the pool was not cleaned and for our very marred wall.  If you hire this pool service, you will be doing yourself a great disservice.  Or else you do not believe our review.  Then how do you not believe the previous bad review?
Also, you have to give them a credit card in order for them to be paid in advance of the service.  So if they miss a day or two during the month, who cares because they already have your money.  Also, their true colors came out when they called this morning and are threatening to sue us for $280.00 for the month of April and May.  Also, for $140.00 per month, our pool should be in mint condition!  Well its not and has not been since we hired them.
I found out recently that the vaccum that they use is like bringing every other pool's dirt to your pool.  So we have now hired an old school pool service that is $40.00 less per month and does not require a credit card nor does not require to be paid in advance.  They don't care if they lie to you because they already have your money in their pocket.

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS "F" REVIEW:  When we initially hired this pool company, we paid them $400.00 to go through every piece of equipment to make sure the pump was functioning, the filters were functioning, heater functioning, etc.  After they supposedly went through and inspected each item, the pump was no longer circulating the water.  I called the pool company weekly and told them of what was wrong and they just kept saying everything was okay.  Frankly, we felt so defeated with this company that we ignored their poor service.  Upon hiring a new pool service, the pump was serviced and the filters were serviced.  First of all, the pump was leaking which was causing the water to drain out of the pool and it was always wet around the pump.  This was also occurring before we hired this pool company and if they had done their job, as they were paid $400.00 to inspect the equipment,  they would of found out that the pump motor needed replacing.  Further, our new pool service opened up the filter and the filters were so dirty that they all needed replacing.  It showed that this pool service had never cleaned the filters.  So the $400.00 that we paid for checking out our equipment was like giving them a check and saying go out and have a party.  When our new pool service tested the chlorine in the water, there was so much chlorine that if I had tried to swim, my hair would have either turned green or white due to the fact that I color my hair.  They never fulfilled their contract in servicing our pool. This company was the worst pool service that we ever had and we would not recommend them to clean anything, let alone a pool. One last thing, we have the burned out motor and all the old filters as evidence in proving what they did not performed in their services.  Additionally, if they clean 7000 pools a week, that explains why they only spent 8 minutes to clean the pool.

This was a truly awful experience. After they replaced the water heater, the outside electricity, irrigation system and water features no longer worked. After repeated calls, the owner would only talk to us through the receptionist. When we finally got the owner to come out to talk to us about the things that no longer worked, the owner said when "someone" removed the old heater, they cut all the wires. That would have been them, since they removed the previous heater, that was working until it stopped. Previously, he promised to return in a few days to reconnect the electrical system, but never showed up and never bothered to call. After several calls and unsuccessful repair visits by the company technician, we finally hired someone else to fix the irrigation system, as plants were starting to die. The electrician they finally sent did not seem to know what he was doing. We asked him to check the water feature that no longer worked and he decided it was old, parts were no longer available and it needed a $600 replacement part + labor. We decided to ask our regular pool guy and he said it probably just needed to be primed, which he did and it now works. We would have been charged a whole lot of money to replace something that wasn't broken. I will never use this company again and would never recommend it to anyone.

I liked that they were responsive.  They have a lot of people working there and some are better than others.

He has full service.  He has electricians, plumbers, and they do the entire thing.  They cleaned my pool and they did some pool repairs and some major renovations.  They do an outstanding job.  They are extremely professional.

We just bought a home in the desert and "inherited" the service from previous owners. Have been using the service for about 5 months and so far have found them reliable. Their guy shows up on time and does the necessary service and cleaning. The company was a bit late in supplying a part we ordered, but when it arrived it got installed quickly. They are prompt in their billing and responsive to phone calls. Would recommend.

It went really well. They were professional, prompt, and did a quality job.
