The guy the company sent severed the wires to our landscape light.  When I called to report this, the owner responded rudely, "why do you think he did it?"  Well, because the light worked the night before the workman was here, it didn't work after he left, and because of the severed wires lying on the ground.  The owner said he would send the workman back to look at it.  When the workman showed up, he stood at the end of the driveway in a really menacing way and stated flatly that he did not do that.  Because of his demeanor and also because, obviously, they were never going to accept responsibility for the broken light, we just went back inside and paid the invoice in an effort to be rid of them.

Tech. was able to find and replace a broken valve part in 5 minutes!

Angie's List is very useful but depends on people posting reviews regarding their experiences with these companies. When there are only one or two reviews it isn't much help in making a choice. The two reviews posted before mine for Hutcheson Sprinkler Repair are positive but my experience with this company was not a good one. I knew that I had a sprinkler leak because I was having some flooding around 3 of my sprinkler valves and some of the surrounding yard area each time the sprinklers finished their run cycle, so I called Hutcheson. I expected them to take the time to find the leak and make the necessary repairs. Bob showed up and was in a big hurry because he had a heavy work schedule. He took a quick look at the situation and determined that he didn't think there was a leak. Since I had a similar situation before, I tried to explain to him why I was sure that there was something leaking but because he was in such a hurry he couldn't take the time to listen to me or to do a thorough check for the leak. After he left, with some testing and persistency, I was finally able to find the leak myself. It really didn't take an expert to locate it. I hired someone else to make the repairs. Had there really not been a leak and he had put forth a real effort to be sure there was none I would have expected to pay for wasting his time but I do think paying 73.00 for a few minutes of nothing is unacceptable.

Requested next day service for an underground leak. Appt was schedule. Technichian came as arranged. I assumed he would assess the problem and give me an estimate. Instead when he returned he had completed the job. When I asked how much he said that he didn't handle money and they would mail a bill. When the bill arrived it was a fair price. but I would have liked an estimate. The work he did was excellent. The leak had caused a sink hole. He filled that and relaid some pavers that had been dislogded.

I spent about $83 for their service. I have known the guy who came out and I have used his services for my sprinklers for years. I have always had good service and good work done. They have been around here for a long time. They are an A outfit. I would use their services in the future too.
