Shoe Repair
I have a very expensive red leather brief case which I had used so much while traveling that the inside of the shoulder straps were frayed to the point of breaking. When I took it to European Shoe Repair in Pacific Palisades and asked if he could repair it, he told me that the outside of the straps were real leather, but the insides were vinyl, which is why they broke.
Not only did he repair them so well you can't even see they were ever broken, he used a piece of real leather to replace the frayed vinyl that matched the color of the leather perfectly. His work not only repaired, but reinforced the straps, so my briefcase is even better than new.
His words as I left offered real peace of mind to this frequent traveler whose work life is entirely contained in my briefcase, "Because it is all leather now, it will never break again unless you cut it on purpose."
This man is an old school craftsman who obviously loves his work, and prioritizes customer service.
