Sheeler's estimator provided us with a 'not to exceed' estimate, which she explained was required by law for moves under a certain distance. This type of estimate, as well the news about the regulations, was not provided by other moving companies that came to do estimates. Sheeler was the low bidder, which made me nervous until I read their customers' rave reviews on the internet. We had saved most of the moving boxes from our prior move and Sheeler's crew used those boxes first, which saved us more money.
The estimation was for a two day move, partly due to the packing services and partly due to the extra bulky items (piano, refrigerator, washer/dryer). We asked the crew to be sure to set up our bed in the new house by the end of the first day so we wouldn't have to sleep in a motel. Even though the packing services took most of the first day, they gladly accommodated us.
Sheeler's crew was everything we could expect. They were prompt, courteous and professional. They carefully packed and moved everything, including the baby grand piano. Before leaving they reassembled any item that had to be disassembled for the move. They even rearranged the living room furniture on the second day after we realized our first layout wouldn't work. And they returned a week later to take away all the moving boxes for recycling.
We would gladly use Sheeler Moving and Storage again, and heartily recommend them

We had contracted for a move-in date in Idaho on June 20, but due to delays in closing escrow, we had to ask them to hold off on the delivery for 5 or 6 days. They were very cooperative and said they would hold off and would not charge us any extra for the delay. This meant our things would have to sit on the truck and the truck/trailer rig would not be available for them to use for other customers during the busiest time of year.
Our move in date slipped again until we finally closed escrow and allowed them to unload the truck at our new home in Idaho. Since the total time the truck was idle was 10 days, we agree to pay an additional $900 for storage. This was calculated as 6 days storage at $150 per day, We felt this was very fair under the circumstances.
We only had a few minor complaints with the movers:
..The packers didn't always adequately describe what was in the boxes they packed.
..When unloading the packed boxes into our new home, they often stacked them in such a way that we could not read the descriptions of what the boxes contained.
..The packers sometimes packed items from different rooms into a single box, causing confusion on our part when looking for items in the boxes.
Overall, we had a very pleasant experience with the company - both the office personnel and the packers and movers. The driver, who was the one in charge of the packers and movers, was very good at keeping the process moving, packing the truck, keeping an accurate inventory, and overall supervision of the move.
We would recommend this company to anyone considering a move.
