Trip 2: Technician 1 returned and "drilled out" the screw to remove old faucet and installed the faucet (took longer because he wasn't familiar with electronic faucets). He said he had to remove the garbage disposal and then reinstall it because of the angle (so cost me more for that labor). I told him I wished he'd said something because I don't use the disposal and would have had him leave it out. We had the same thing happen when the dishwasher was installed, so it is costing us a lot in increased labor charges. He didn't reply.
Trip 3: After about 2 weeks the new faucet started dripping and Delta said it was the solenoid. They sent me a new one that they said was easy to replace. There were written instructions and they said we could also call. Because it could cost more to have anything more done under the sink with the garbage disposal still in the way, I decided to save up a few tasks. I'd heard from our homeowner's association that another owner had permanent drain screens installed and loved them (SemperScreens). I ordered 2 for the kitchen and definitely wouldn't need the garbage disposal. I called Donlon again to remove the disposal, replace the solenoid, and install the 2 drain filters. I also told them I needed the bathroom shower water handles repaired/replaced because they were difficult to adjust now. Technician 2 called to come 1 hour before the scheduled time and admitted he didn't realize he was calling so early. I made him wait because I needed to prepare the areas he'd be working. When he looked at the shower, he snapped the temperature handle right off using excessive force. He said we needed new cartridges, but had to give 24 hours notice for shutting off the water, so would need to do the bathrooms on another day. He went to work on the kitchen and had to leave twice for parts that he didn't realize he'd need. He did discount 1 hour for those trips, but the entire kitchen job was billed for 3 hours. His explanation was that he was unfamiliar with the solenoid installation. I asked him if we could call Delta to help and he ignored my suggestion. He had difficulty getting the drain screen in without leaks and after he left I noticed one was lopsided and left water pooling on one side. I called Donlon to cancel the bathroom work (scheduled a different vendor) and asked them to send a different technician to come and warranty repair the lopsided kitchen drain. They were responsive and arranged for someone to come 2 days later.
Trip 4: Technician 3 (Mauricio) was ready 30 minutes early and the office called to see if that would be okay. When he arrived he promptly got to work and, using a level, fixed the drain. He was professional and competent.
My rating is based on all 4 interactions, and though I rated an overall of "C", I wouldn't call them again because there are other plumbers who can more consistently do a quality job in less time (i.e. lower labor cost). I believe it had to do with the technician they sent. If I used them again, I'd try to schedule when the 3rd technician could come. I'm sure they have other good ones also. I chose this plumbing company because they are licensed to work in homeowners associations and our association has used them a lot previously.
