Albert Hernandez Flooring

I received quotes from 3 other contractors to bid on the job seemed inline. Not the cheapest and not the highest. How he lured me in was the fact I needed to get this job done before a business trip so he have me the "start now discount" of $1200. Albert did some tile work for my Dad prior to this when my Dad purchased tile for his house through Home Depot. They sent out Albert. So I thought he knows my Dad and told him if he did good the family will continue to use him. So the discount did not seem out of line. Albert promised the job would be done in 2 weeks. This was in February!! It’s June and the job is still not done. When I left the job was about 90% done so I thought Albert could live up to his promise. Once I left it has been months of excuses of how he will be there next week. The only time he showed up was to allow his cousin to install my backsplash. Well his cousin did a terrible job and the backsplash is uneven and needs to be repaired.  I joined this site because I felt the need to warn people about people who do this. I have been told that its people like this who steal jobs from real contractors and underbid the job and either under perform or just leave as he did in my case. This is my first home and was really excited to start this job and really make this a place that I really wanted.  Now its has been a nightmare that is dragging out and looks like it is going to cost more money to finish and will more than likely end up in court.  I thought I would also mention I introduced him to the interior decorator and he was supposed to work 2 other jobs for her. Lets just say he has started those jobs and collected money and has not returned. Everyone you have been warned. Do not do business with this guy!!!! To recap he was given work from my parents, I gave him work, told him about future work needing to get done, and also got him 2 other jobs with the interior decorator, if I did all that for him and he failed to show up just what do you think he will to do you!!
