"This review comes as a shock for our company. We continually strive for great customer service and to provide quality equipment. For the fact that "it didn't fit the space": The customer was told about the dimensions required to be able to operate the equipment. They left after the initial explanation to go home a prepare for renting it. When they returned, we gave them another detailed explanation of operating procedures, safety and room requirements. Our equipment is checked, serviced and tested before we will put it out front to rent and allow it to be sent out. It operated before they took the lift. It was returned with a damaged safety circuit wire rendering the machine out of service for the necessary repair. They had the machine out of the yard for a little over 1 hours time. The normal rental rates for this piece of equipment is: 3 Hour Minimum @ $25.00 per hour; Fall Safety Harness @ $5.00 Per Day; No Tax charged on Rentals 10% Conditional Damage waiver All signed and agreed upon by customer on the Rental Contract. Normal amount due: $88.00 Amount Customer actually paid: $60.50 The Customer states: "We returned the lift to De-Mar and they charged us 1/2 day, even though we had it less than 2 hours." We actually only charged them for 2 hours. That is 1 hour short of the equipment's minimum charge. Had we actually charged for the "1/2 day", the customer would have shown being charged the amount of $115.50. (As per the listed information above. Knowing that "1/2 day" equals 4 hours. We knocked that 1 hour off the minimum charge only because we had experienced good relations with them on prior rentals and decided that those charges should cover our necessary fees for that transaction and should also appease the customer. Doing so was an act of generosity, not an admittance of equipment fault. As with any rental yard, minimums are in place to cover costs (paperwork, hookup/explain, servicing etc) and to produce some income. This transaction ended up costing us more that what was paid due to extensive customer time, repair costs and down time when it was scheduled to be out on rent."
