Electrical Service
After three visits and $1,304 (total) , there was no change in the problem. Although he used a tester, apparently he was clueless as to what it was telling him. ( I FOUND ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN who was able to diagnose and solve the problem in less than two hours. He will return and complete the repair later this week, but he explained every step of the way and described how he arrived at the cause of the problem ; he was able to get everything functiioning for now.)
Dan pulled wires and took them with him, but I'm not sure they needed to be pulled. He charged for 980 feet of wire for a 60-foot distance --- that works out to about 16 strands in that conduit!!! He also charged $550 for labor (3 hours that trip for his helper and 2 hours for himself) ; that works out to $110 per hour for each person!) On his first two trips, he charged $70 and $250 but gave me no bill or receipt.
When the breaker failed AGAIN after about an hour, I called and made an appointment for him to return, but then I sought someone else. After finding someone else to do the work, I called both of Dan's phone numbers; since I did not reach a human, I left the message that I needed to cancel our appointment for the following Thursday. However, on that Thursday, the helper showed up anyway! I asked why he was here, and he repliefd that he just goes where Dan sends him. I told him that I did not want either of them on my property, ever again! So he reassembled the wiring that he had started to take apart and left.
I feel that he was NOT COMPETENT, NOT HONEST, and condescending in his manner with me.
