Richard was prompt- arriving even before our contractor. Our children, 4 and 8 years old, sat on our stairs to watch and every once in a while asked questions. He was kind and patient in answering them, which was important to me as a mom. Having work done in the home is unnerving, but Richard helped me feel comfortable and made sure I understood the process and care instructions for the product he was installing. Our job posed a few challenges, for example carpeting that had been installed below built in wall units and seamlessly meeting tile in our kitchen/dining areas, but with his expertise and knowledge he easily worked through these issues. His clean up was spotless!

The re-carpeting went smoothly. Richard worked quickly and efficiently to install the carpets, and we were pleased with the quality of the work. However, when the team came out to patch our kitchen tile, we were very disappointed to learn that the incorrect tile had been ordered. Thus, this resulted in another 2 -3 week postponement of completing our kitchen. When Richard returned with the tile, he bluntly said that he would not be doing the additional work which we had previously negotiated. He offered no explanation, but simply stated that he was not planning on doing that work. While he was able to complete the contracted work in one day, the quality of his work was noticeably poor - for example, he did not set all the tiles level (our primary contractor actually came back later and had to re-do this). Further, he sloppily filled in some of the accent tile areas with grout, rather than actually placing the accent tile pieces (again, our primary contractor corrected this later at his own expense).
