My three bathrooms have been remodeled as well as my kitchen. I had wood floor installed. They repiped, installed a water heater and a whole-house filtration system. All work by the company has been excellent! My kitchen is amazing!

We used Tom Moffett Plumbing in the past with plumbing charges exceeding $3000. Performance was average and included hours of chatter and sales pitching. When we called them for service on a water heater that was not warming the water, the technician said the water heater needed to be replaced. When he was asked if it was still under warranty, the technician said NO. We paid him $1700+ for a new water heater. Turns out, the old water heater was still under warranty and should have been replaced at no charge. TMP said their technician did not know about the warranty because TMP not the original vender. He might have pointed out this fact or even if he had said that he didn't know, we could then have searched out the original vender to find that it was under warranty and saved $1700. Very shady customer service.
Response from Tom Moffett Plumbing

"Unfortunately there is no way for us to know if you had an extended warranty through another vendor. We can only go by the manufacturer. Your water heater's warranty from Rheem expired in April of 2015. That was all the information we had. Considering neither you nor your husband was home at the time of installation, how was our technician to know that you had an extended warranty with another party? I definitely understand your frustration but your issue should be with the other vendor. If we can help you recoup some of your costs from the other vendor, please let us know. We're here to help."

They were very good. There were two plumbers that came out to complete the work. The workers were very good, they left the area clean. I'm totally satisfied with the work and I would use them again.

Very good! Price was a little high, but then again it was Christmas Eve. We have had them here several times in the last year and I probably pay a little bit more, only because they are reliable. Sometimes you pay more for service, because you can count on them, and I know they will do a good job and stand behind it.

They charge us a monthly fee. They have a home inspection. We would use them again but they are costly. I think they should improve their pricing.

I was told by Moffett Plumbing that I needed to be at the property for them to do the work. I live over an hour away. The first time around, they rescheduled the appointment, and on the second time, I drove over an hour, and then they were late! Because of the reschedule and the tardiness, I was then told they would waive the $59 service charge. They looked at the problem and said that the pipe from the toilet to the tank needed to be replaced, which would cost well over $600. This is outrageous. I could purchase a brand new toilet for $350. I decided not to have the work done by this company. Now I am being billed for the service fee they said they'd waive. This entire experience was complete fail.

He kept trying to up-charge me once he came out. This made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt as if I was at a car dealership, and he kept trying to wear me out and have me pay more. He kept trying to sell me a toilet.

Response from Tom Moffett Plumbing

"Although your review is somewhat accurate, I believe there are key facts missing. Firstly, you and your husband were in Europe when we serviced the property and getting in touch with either of you to discuss our findings & our recommendations was met with some difficulties to say the least. Our diagnosis was correct as per an E-mail I received from your husband (albeit weeks after we serviced your property) He claims that another service provider was able to repair it with an inferior product at a lesser price. Our product (the ONLY product approved by Los Angeles City for pipe rehabilitation) could not be installed in your particular situation. Because another company used a non-approved material at a cheaper price does not mean our recommendations were false and certainly doesn't warrant an "F" rating in my opinion. As far as your dispute with your credit card company, we realized that because we had no signatures (again, you were out of the country) we had no legal standing to contest. We elected to not even attempt to fight for our rightly deserved revenue. We completed the work realizing you were out of the country in good faith. You used the fact that we had no authorized signatures to your advantage. Well played. When the inferior product fails and you find yourself searching for a permanent solution, we truly hope you give us the chance to prove our worth. And yes, we'll still take care of you when you're out of the country. Even though it sets us up to be victims in your fraudulent schemes, we'll always go above and beyond to make things as convenient as possible for our clients."

Less experienced service tech that kept trying to sell us on a protection package and had to call his Dad twice about parts. The work was really expensive and I would therefore never use them again. Normally I would never pay that kind of money to have the faucet replaced, but we only have one bathroom and frankly I didn't want to deal with calling another plumber, I just needed it in and operable. On the plus side, they left everything clean and arrived on time. Work was average, not outstanding, not subpar. For someone who doesn't deal with contractors a lot, and wants peace of mind they might work, but I felt like they overcharged and made a huge deal about checking out other items in the house I just had replaced and I know are quality work, but they were picking apart.

When the plumber came out he estimated a cost of $350 for installing the innards of the toilet. I said thank you but no thank you. He wanted to charge me $59 for even coming out. I had the same job done by John-son Plumbing. They installed their own superior innards into the toilet and the whole job cost me only $65.

Excellent work. Very professional and responsive. Listend to our concerns and explained everything in detail. Chiris Pelayo and Matt were outstanding. I highly recommend them. Chad and Sean helped out and were great. The drilling crew, Carlos(owner), Abel, and Hermann and other helpers were excellent. Everything was cleaned up and restored to before work condition. Visitors have commented that cannt tell any wirk was done. We had 3 holes in the slab in interior and 6 holes outside, 3 in front lawn, 3 on side where pavers were removed, and i in back under artificial turf.
Everything is back in place with little or no sign of disturbance. We highly recommed Moffett Plumbing and especially this crew.
The people in the office, Rachel and Nicole, were very pleasant and professional. They really did make us smile.
Greta work and service at an acceptable cost.

I called Tom Moffett Plumbing for a slab leak, because I have been hearing their commercials on a Christian radio station, so I thought, "They must be a reliable, and fair business to be advertising on this station."  My homeowner's insurance would be paying for the plumbing reroute and the damages, but kept hesitating to send a payment for the plumbing portion.  The adjuster said that he couldn't believe the high price on the invoice I sent them.  He thought the plumber must have done more than was recorded, that he must have repiped more of the house.  I told him no, this is all he did, but he wanted another plumber/ leak locator to come out and evaluate what was done and give them a price on what they would have charged for that same work.  Their estimate for the work was $3,500.  I couldn't believe we had been conned into paying that much more for this job.  So I thought, maybe they came in low because they knew they wouldn't get the job, so I looked on Yelp, as this 2nd plumber suggested, and read alot of reviews, and found a reputable plumber that had all good reviews, and ask him for an estimate for repiping the whole house minus what had already been done, and an estimate for the whole house including what had been done.  For repiping the whole house, his estimate was $9,000, and for repiping everything except what had been done was $6,500.  Therefore he would have charged $2,500 - $3,000 for the work the first plumber charged us $8,375 for.  Well, needless to say, the insurance paid us only $3,737. for the plumbing and we are stuck with a huge credit card debt.  It really does pay to read reviews on Yelp and Angie's List, and I'm kicking myself for not doing that.  I tried talking to the owner of the first plumbing company, but he just kept telling me all the expenses in his business, maintaining his trucks, worker's comp., paying his employees, etc. and said that the price was fair.  Well do you think consumers care how much a company spends on expenses?  No!  We only care that the job is done well and that the price is reasonable.  Their prices are not reasonable by any stretch of the imagination.  I am even stuck paying $11.95/month for getting a "discount price" by signing up to be a club member.  They wouldn't even let me out of that membership, so for the next year I will have a sick feeling every time that money comes out of my account.  I learned my lesson the hard way, that just because a business advertises on a Christian radio station doesn't mean they are Christian in their practices.

The service was great.  The personal is excellent and impressive.  His employees are great.  More than two people came out and it took them about 15 hours to complete that job.  I would say that he is professional, knowledgeable and he explained everything in detail.  He is coming back to install a soft water system.

They did really kind of upsold us a garbage disposal that was much more than what we needed. The cost was over $600. It was close to $700 with the labor. It was a Holiday weekend. It was ridiculous. Everything was fine, but you cannot stick with people that are out to squeeze an extra buck out of a call. Being professional is charging you the honest price for what you need. So, I would say it was very unprofessional.
Response from Tom Moffett Plumbing

"[member name removed] I'm sorry for your perception of a less than stellar experience with our company. Upon researching your file, I've come to realize that we have serviced your property no less than half a dozen times since 2011. So you obviously have felt confident in our services in the past. Enough to invite us back into your home again and again. I'm not sure what your point of contention was with your garbage disposal other than getting common "Monday Morning Quarterbacking" whereas someone claims you were over charged but they never were, nor will be, in the situation we were in. Your service was conducted on a Sunday afternoon, not a holiday like you claim. You gave us a "C" rating for punctuality and responsiveness, yet we answered your phone call immediately, booked your appointment for between 2-4 PM of that day (October 19th) and arrived at your property at 3:29 sharp. You also claim that you were charged almost $700 That is not true either (in fact you were charged $543 for the disposal, misc parts and the installation.) I'd love to rectify this situation, but until you're willing to deal with fact, not fiction, there is not much that I can do. We do have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and we stand behind it completely. If the charges were not explained to you in advance, then we can discuss pricing alternatives, but with our signature straight forward prancing, I'm sure you were aware of the charges before the work commenced. I'd really appreciate (and so would Angie's List members) if your review were based on your real experience. Considering your continued use of our company, and our ability to arrive within the scheduled appointment window on a Sunday afternoon , I would think a rating of "F" for Price, "B" for Quality, "A" for Responsiveness, "A" for Punctuality, and maybe a "B" for Professionalism. Again, I'm sorry that you are getting bad information regarding the actual price to install a high end garbage disposal with an extended in-house service warranty, but a high (in your opinion) price should not result in an "F" rating. I'm confused."

They gave me several alternative models to choose from and I selected the Moen widespread (Kingsley) priced at $884 each.
The install went great with new supply lines, new trap assembly, etc. The new faucets are great, and I will definitely use them again.
I love these guys! They have been my go-to plumbers for several years. They did a whole house repipe in 2012, replaced a broken water heater in 2011, repaired several toilets and sinks that leaked in 2009 and 2010, after we purchased this house. I have found that their responsiveness is extraordinary and their prices fair. I have never felt pressured to replace anything that could have been repaired.
