I contacted the company and the owner Mike called me back quickly. I had a relatively small job so I was concerned they wouldn't be able to fit me into their schedule of larger jobs. Mike assured me they could get the job done. Mike gave me a quote so I could compare it to other quotes I received and their quote was almost identical to the other ones. Having been burned before by an unlicensed construction contractor I was a bit nervous and had a bunch of questions. MIke was very professional and answered all of my questions which put me at ease. On the start day, Mike's crew showed up on time and got right to work. The job only took a couple of days and now my front yard looks fantastic. I could not be happier. I WILL be calling Mike again for my next landscape construction job.

We used Sea Breeze Construction for a fairly sizable (approx 5000 sq ft) landscape / hardscape project. We removed and replaced almost everything surrounding the house – front, side and back yards. Sea Breeze performed the demo and grading and then installed concrete, block walls, pavers, fencing, drainage, irrigation and softscape (plantings). In the front yard we had them take out the grass, remove the concrete driveway and brick veneer patio and create a beautiful courtyard by building a pony wall, laying pavers, creating several planting beds, the foundation for a fountain, and install a wider driveway. On the side yards they installed a new composite and steel fence with a concrete curb and poured new concrete for the walkways. The back was transformed from a plain concrete patio with a small strip of grass to a larger colored concrete space with a useful planting area where we now also have a fountain and spa. They stripped down a 2000 sq ft steep slope previously filled with not-so attractive wild growth, and replanted it with a beautiful set of plants that is currently growing in. They also added some accents to the slope such as a set of steps, a separate herb garden area, and a viewing seat/bench. The project took close to 3 months from start to finish, and they got a lot done in that time. They were onsite almost every day that wasn’t raining or a holiday. They handled everything we asked for with the exception of the electrical, only because it went beyond the basic low voltage landscape lighting that they would do. With such a complex project, we struggled a little finding a contractor that was able to handle all of the pieces of this job and was also able to work with us… in a manner in which we were comfortable. We were very detail driven, but would not be available on site everyday to make decisions or to help resolve issues which might crop up. We were also concerned about staying within our budget. Mike Hargreaves managed our project and he was really great to work with. We started with a simple drawing prepared by another designer and adjusted as we went along based on realities. Mike provided detailed estimates, laid out the entire project into phases, and then billed us weekly based on the work completed. With a project spanning that length of time, we really appreciated that business model. The statement of work he laid out was detailed and very clear and we always discussed potential changes prior to the work being initiated. He also made suggestions along the way for things that he thought might look better. Mike pulled the necessary permits from our city and worked with them through signoff. Mike was responsive to our queries throughout the work. We corresponded by email or phone and he was on site at least once on most days. He always communicated with us including: the plans for the week ahead, planned deliveries, changes in the crew, any issues or delays. His foremen and workers were just fantastic – great work ethic and excellent at their jobs. Our neighbors commented often about how hard they worked and how well they maintained the jobsite while in process. We ran into an issue with humid weather (fog) that moved in suddenly the day the concrete driveway was poured, but the workers got creative with ways to accelerate the drying and wouldn’t leave until it was at a point where they could work the finish correctly – which meant they stayed on the jobsite quite late in the evening. They kept a great attitude, though, and knew if they rushed the drying process it would not set well. They took great pride in their work and appear to be quite customer oriented. We presented a very ‘un-traditional’ fence design to them, and they executed it flawlessly; it looks fantastic and should last a lifetime. Overall, we are very happy with the results. There has been a significant change to the appearance of the yard which we had thoughtfully planned and Sea Breeze Construction was able to execute very well. We have, and continue to recommend Sea Breeze Construction to our friends and neighbors.

I called early in the morning to get a quote, I was told someone would be at my house at 5. At 5:15 I received a phone call from on of the workers stating that he wasn't going to make the appointment. Then he had the nerve to try and reschedule and never apologized. Why would I give this company the job when they can't even make a simple appointment. Horrible customer service.. Don't waste a phone call with this company.

The whole crew was a delight to work with throughout the process, prompt, polite and kept things cleaned up at all times. Jim, one of the owners, developed the design and worked closely with us on plantings - he even replaced the plants that didn't survive the late summer heat wave at no extra charge to us. Really awesome service!

It went alright despite they ordered the wrong stone the first time and some of the curves don't flow with the rest of the pattern. In the end they got the job done. I did find one small crack in one of the pads, though.

It went great. He was very punctual. He drew a diagram of everything he was going to do with specific measurements. Unlike other estimates we received he didn't make me feel like the job was too small for him to be concerned with. He made me feel like my job was just as important as any of this larger jobs.

Mike came over and gave us a suggested plan and told us the approximate cost of the work. We selected the materials, colors and approved the design and he gave us a formal and quot;bidand quot; We agreed to the plan and he and his workers arrived every day promptly at 7:00 AM. Mike was professional, very easy to work with and very accommodating. He absolutely stuck to his bid and worked every day until the job was completed... They know what they are doing and did excellent work. It took about 3 weeks from beginning to end (less a couple of rainy days) We have a beautiful new and quot;font landscape and stone workand quot; on our house and our neighbors all stop by to admire the newly finished work. I would highly recommend Mike and Jim of Sea Breeze Construction for the quality of their work, their professionalism, their friendly and cooperative attitude, their fair prices and their overall expertise. I would definitely use them again to remodel or upgrade our home landscaping.

The experience was great overall. Jim Hargreaves, the person that we worked with, was very knowledgeable about the plants and what we needed. He had some really great ideas for us and did a great job.

He was a nice guy. I liked the owner. He was a good guy. I would use them in the future.

The work was well done. Material was under estimated so the job cost more than the bid. My only concern was how long it took for the job to be started as it was potponned a couple of times. He would say he was coming. We would wait for him, and then he would not show up.

He's a pretty good guy. He was certainly expensive, and his ideas on the project were different than mine. Even so, he seems like a great guy.

This is the 4th review I've submitted- and every vendor I've used via Angie's has done a good job (which is the point I suppose). Sea Breeze is exceptional, however, because they kept in conact 3 months after the work was complete to be sure we were happy. As it turns out- a choice we made wasn't a good one. Jim Hargreaves proactively sought us out to change this. Most every contractor I've worked with consider a job done once it's been paid for. Sea Breeze kept in touch and worked on it long after that.

Excellent work overall. Met with the owner. Discussed our options. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave us an rough estimate indicating that he could probably go a bit lower than that. He called back a few days later giving as the final estimate, which was lower than the original. We set a date. There was no down payment until the stones were delivered. The date slipped a bit because of weather. The installation process went flawlessly and exactly as described. The patio looks great.

James is a true professional. He and his adult son do the majority of the work and are very professional. Clean, thorough, quiet and didn't overcharge. They came on time as well as finished on time as promised. James does hardscape, landscaping, and construction work.
