Description of Work: I requested a service call to unclog a drain pipe under my deck. The Do It Right Plumber was not able to unclog it using the snake and recommended the Hydro-jet treatment. I got a second opinion from my regular plumber who also offers the Hydro-jet treatment, at half the price of the original quote. After assessing the situation, he determined that the Hydro-jet treatment had a fairly high probability of not succeeding in our case. Instead, he removed part of the deck, removed a portion of the drain pipe, replaced it with a new one that he routed under the deck and into the garden below. He replaced the portion of the deck, restoring it to it's original state. All this for half the cost of the Hydro-jet treatment that was quoted by Do It Right. All that remains is to replace a small portion of the downspout leading to the drain.

Description of Work: Installed a new toilet in upstairs bathroom. Inspected other plumbing as well, and no other charges were incurred. Arrived on time and completed the job in a timely manner. Michael was very courteous and professional, did a clean job, and removed the old toilet and all packaging as well. Thank you!! My first time using Angie's list and it was a very positive experience.

Description of Work: Snaked the back garden drains allowing water to escape from the patio area to the street. Job well done.

Description of Work: Paid for installing a new toilet, however the old one was leaking due to a bad flange which was uneven. Requested Michael fix replace the flange as well. Michael did an excellent job and was very professional. We will call him for any of our future plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Worker attempted to clean out yard drain line. After two unsuccessful attempts to clean out drain I was told that my thirty minutes were 'up'. I was a bit miffed and asked him to make another attempt. He called his boss who gave permission for another attempt. That attempt also failed to block the root obstruction. I respectfully paid the bill even after being told by the worker that if I was not happy I would not be required to pay the cost. I did think that the end of the auger was too small for this job and a larger cutting piece was required. I was told that was all that he had. The owner, after a conversation, did send me two $50 gift cards towards any future Do It Right services which I appreciated.

Description of Work: They did virtually nothing. I had bought 3 Big Deals for snaking, 50 ft each. After the 1st attempt to snake on 2/1, I was told I would need hydro-jetting for $700. Two appointments for the following afternoon, 2/2, were cancelled due to equipment trouble. A 3rd "priority" appt was set for 4pm on 2/3. No one had shown up or called by 4:15, so I called. The tech was "on his way". I responded that if he wasn't there by 4:30 not to come that day. I had already tied up 3 afternoons at great inconvenience for nothing. I have not heard from them since, 2/8. In addition, although I rec'd a message through Angie's List on 1/25 saying they would call "soon" to schedule an appt, I did not hear from them the entire week. After threatening a F rating, I rec'd a call on 2/1. I was told the reason I hadn't been contacted was one of their trucks had been in an accident. This is not an acceptable excuse for not calling. The tech, Michael, also volunteered an additional service unrelated to plumbing of installing an emergency gas shut-off for $711. I declined. After asking that the 2 Big Deals for snaking not utilized be deducted, Michael said the $700 quote for hydro-jetting already took into account the 2 unused Big Deals. I do not trust these people and their track record of failure to communicate is unacceptable.

Description of Work: Do It Right Plumbing installed a toilet that I purchased. Cost was very good, installation went very well. However, they had to reschedule a couple times due to an emergency service that they were attending to and double scheduling. I as well had many things going on at the time. So meeting up with them took several weeks, if not longer. The owner was very kind on the phone and seemed concerned that our timing was turning into an issue. I would definitely use them again based on their expertise and the conversations I had on the phone with the owner.....it seemed like he valued his customers. Which is so important in todays business world. |
