I Was scheduled for an 8am quote at my house. I got a call at 7:59am from Antonio saying he'd be 30-40min late. At 8:29am I got another call from Antonio w/Sprinkler Repair Guys saying that he just figured out that I lived in Fontana Ca. not Temecula . . . the city he was now IN and looking for my home. He then wanted to reschedule for later this afternoon or tomorrow. With this level of incompetence it is not likely there will ever be another appointment. EXTREMELY disappointed!!!!!!

Sought to have the service provider help evaluate my sprinkler system and landscape lighting.  All the rep wanted to do was sell me another sprinkler system.  While the guy was an engineer, he wasn't  experienced or qualified to provide the service advertised by the provider.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!  These guys are crooks.  Called them because I had a leak in my sprinkler manifold that was causing a loss of pressure.  Raimey shows up to inspect; tells me that not only do I have a leak, but the original installation had too many sprinklers.  I told him just to fix the leak.  He sends another guy out...looks for the leak - I had to show him where it was - I found out two visits later that he replaced a section of the manifold that wasn't leaking!   Dude left, I come home...So system back up?  Still no pressure and still leaking.  Called them they return, I had to show him where the leak was.  Fixed the leak but said in order to fix leak, might as well replace valves.  OK...they were 5 years old.  But, come to find out they installed valves for $60 each that cost $29 at Lowe's. I come home, pressure still low.  Says the too many non-efficient sprinklers on the line.  Need to replace with low flow nozzles.  OK...12 nozzles and get this, "special low flow nozzles" for $15 a pop...mind you not the sprinkler body, just the nozzle.  System back up.  Running OK.  two weeks later, brown spots on lawn from sprinkler missing.  Called them back to adjust...system up.  A week later, still brown spots.  This time it takes them 3 weeks to respond.  Come out and they guy puts little pieces of brown paper bags all over the yard, turns on sprinklers to see if the get wet!  Replace one of the "special low-flow" sprinklers with another "special low flow larger pattern" nozzle.  Did the brown bag thing and, presto changeo he says all is OK.  Two week later, still brown spots.  So figure I'll pull of a couple of "special low-flow" nozzles to see what they are and maybe do some of my own engineering...guess what?  "Special low-flow_ nozzles are just Rain Birds and...get this...$0.99 each..  Well, my bad and lesson learned.  These guys are not sprinkler repair professionals, they are flim flam ripoff artists and I got taken.

The sales rep was very personable, and quoted a price of approximately $480 after discussing in detail what was needed, which seemed reasonable for a small patio. He emailed me an estimate/contract for that amount, which I quickly read over and signed online. The technician arrived on time and was also very knowledgeable and personable. He installed the system per discussion with the sales rep, showed me how to work it, and gave me a manual. All great up to that point. However, he then asked for a check in the amount of $650, which came as a total surprise. I'm retired, and it was sheer luck that I had the extra money on hand. Had I been quoted $650, I would definitely have looked at other bids. I immediately emailed the sales rep and asked why there was a significant increase in cost. He emailed me another estimate/contract for the $650 amount, without comment. It was then apparent that the first online estimate/contract had omitted the timer/controller, which I hadn't noticed. The timer is a nice upscale RainBird, although I would've been okay with a lesser model. But I was not given the option. The in-person sales discussion included a timer--undefined--which should've been in the first online estimate.  Caveat emptor--My bad for not closely reading the first contract that omitted the timer. Although satisfied with the product and service, I feel very taken-advantage-of, and annoyed at the way things were handled. No apology for the mixup, nada.

The person who did the assessment was more than prompt, he showed up 3 hours early.  I wasn't ready for that, so schedules had to be adjusted accordingly.  After his 5 hour assessment he proceeded to inform me that I had over 118 broken sprinkler heads and 28 landscape lights that were malfuntioning.  My initial reaction was one of disbelief as I would have seen water running down the street, and the grass would be soggy.  When I told him that I didn't believe there were 118 broken sprinkler heads and asked him to show me one that was leaking, he said the leaks were so minor they would be almost undetectable.  At this point I was very skeptical of his "assessment".  As for the lights I know I did not have 28 lights that did not work.  I change the light bulbs as needed and inspect the lights regularly.  But I knew I had at least 7-10 lights that needed repair and I also wanted to add lights, thus the need for the "Sprinkler Repair Guy".  I asked him to show me the 28 broken lights.  He proceeded to point to a few of the lights that I knew were not working.  Then he point to a light that I had just put a new light bulb in.  I told him I just put a bulb in that light so I know it works.  He flipped the landscape lighting timer on and off, and it wasn't turning on.  I walked closer to the light to inspect and saw that there wasn't a bulb in the light.  I pointed it out to him and he said "I happen to have a bulb here, let's put it in and see if it works".   The light turned out to be just fine.  But I realized he reached into his bag and pulled out the bulb that I had just put in that light the week before.  I buy all the same type bulb (LED daylight MR16).   This was the exact same bulb as all my other lights.  Most landscape lighting is soft white and I use a brighter daylight bulb.  How slimy!!

Now I stopped asking him for his inspection and began looking at other things he may have sabbotaged to enhance the "need" for his services.  I looked up on a hill where I have a mercury vapor spot light that shines up a large palm tree.  The light had fallen over and was missing the shroud around it.  He said he would look at it before he left.

During our wrap up he told me that the Sprinkler Repair Guy supervisor would be contacting me with a price to repair the 118 broken sprinkler heads, 28 lights and a cost to install new lights.  He proceeded to tell me that I had his number since I had to call him and let him know when someone would be home since he arrived 3 hours early and if Sprinkler Repair Guy was too expensive to call him directly and he would make the repairs much more reasonably priced.  More slime!!

The next day I called the company who installed my landscape lights to see if their schedule allowed a brief visit to repairs lights.  They came out a few weeks later and told me that the mercury vapor light was taken apart and had been damaged in the process.  The shroud was 10 feet away and the bolts holding it on were stripped and someone had pulled the wires out of the housing.  It took them 2 hours to make the repairs to ONLY that one light.

I called the Sprinkler Repair Guy and informed them of the problems I encountered.  They were very polite and shocked at the story.  As I told them I feel that I paid someone to sabbotage my property so they would be "needed" to fix my property.  I asked that a Corporate supervisor call me back. They did not call me back nor have they refunded my money.

So if you want to pay someone to sabbotage your property, Sprinkler Repari Guy is for you.  If you want someone who can actually help you, call someone else.

My experience was not great. All he did was, he put a vault meter into each light socket and said they were burned out and that either I have to replace the whole system or pull them out. A short time later, I had a different company come out to tune up my irrigation and they said all the lights work just fine. There was just some little thing that needed to be tweaked; they tweaked it and all the lights work just fine now. So I do not think Sprinkler Repair Guy was not very competent; I felt horrible how much money I spent on it and he did not even spend ten minutes at my house. I called them and they called me back; that was not a problem.

The experience was good. They did an evaluation and gave me an estimate. Everything was fine except they had left with one light on that was being problematic. It failed one month later. They didn't quite finish the job; I plan on following up with them soon.

The guy was very helpful and he showed me a lot of the timing functions for the lighting. He was on time and he showed me a lot about my existing system. I thought that I needed a new system and what he showed me took care of the system to where that was not needed. He showed me how to change the landscape light bulbs as well and he did try to sell a new system but that was not needed.
