"Wow! Very kind words. Business is something we do typically at least 40hrs a week- some of us much more than that. To have such kind words spoken about things not pertaining to the flow of electrons, grounding, fault current, GFCI protection, ect. is a real blessing. The goal of putting this much time and effort into the company is to represent well. At our website creicoelectric.com we explain who we represent and why we do what we do. These member comments are really encouraging and we could say just as many kind things in return. It is really amazing to have such great customers."
"I (the owner) did speak with your husband and I do appreciate the call. I am always dedicated to spend an appropriate amount of time on business, but sometimes the scales tip to heavily in that direction and take away from the time that my family needs. That is why we have a very solid referral system of reliable and qualified contractors and friends here in Ventura."
"Ventura is truly a beautiful place to live and this home is no exception. The ocean breeze and island views always make a work day a pleasure. We are typically busy, and we do everything we can to maintain a balance between having a quality team of electricians and navigating the ebs and flows of construction."
"Troubleshooting is something that I take a lot of pride in. I really do not enjoy going into attics, however, sometimes it is required. This time it was not. I find that by asking lots of questions, sometimes the same ones twice, I can get information that will save me hours. This helps you and me...teamwork :-)"
"Creico Electric would like to treat others homes as if they were our own. We have booties when needed, tarps, and plastic. We would like to leave the home just as we found it. We also strive to stay within the customers budget. If the work desired is not within the budget, there may be ways to modify the scope, or break the work up into parts. More often in older homes repairs may be needed that the customer is not aware of. These repairs can often be safety issues. The way we approach this is to simply explain the hazard or repair needed, give a price quote for the work, and let the customer decide."
"Recessed lighting is very popular and we are very experienced with installing them. Some customers desire general lighting, replacement of old fluorescent fixtures, art lighting, and lately LED recessed lighting has become very popular"
"It is always nice to work and live near the ocean. Sometimes as I drive up the coast from job to job I remind myself how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful area. I was blessed that [member name removed] was willing to wait to have his service work completed. We always keep a list right in front of us so we know which of our customers are patiently waiting :-)"
"It was a pleasure to meet the member and bid on his project. These older homes need some extra TLC. We love to perform upgrades and install wiring capable of meeting modern demands on these beautiful single family residences. We were not able to get to the member's right away so he went with another contractor. We do lots of work in that neighborhood and I was able to drive by and see that the contractor that was hired did a quality job."
"It was really a pleasure to do work in The Afman's home. Our goal is not only to do our work to current safety and electrical codes, but also establish lasting relationships with our customers. Getting to know our customers interests makes our work seem less like work, and makes our days very enjoyable."
"We have really come to appreciate what electricity is and does. Sometimes the small issues are very important, so we take them seriously. The member's house was no exception. When we find a problem we explain it in a way that is easy to understand and emphasize the importance of safety. We spend many hours in school and stay up to date on the most current codes."
"All our customers are important to us. It really isn't about how big or small the job is, the important thing is the people. We love to get to know you. We have some very dear friends that started as customers."

"We appreciate the business we get from Four Seasons Sunrooms and are happy to provide quality installations to their customers. Safety is always our primary focus when we work on electrical. Many years of experience, school, training from inspectors, as well as State Contractors testing, and journeymen certification have taught us the importance of proper wiring by qualified persons. The National Electric Code defines "qualified persons" as "one who has skills and knowledge...and has received safety training to recognize and avoid the hazards involved". Four Seasons Sunrooms is a company that we admire. They have more than 25 years as a successful contractor. We strive to follow in their footsteps."
"We appreciate the business that we received from The Customer. We were happy to listen to what they had in mind for their home and provide answers to design and code questions as well as referrals for other trusted contractors. We enjoyed providing them quality service and look forward to working with them again in the future."
A couple years later my tenants complained that a bank of lights had stopped working. I called Creico to come out and fix the problem. They said that they would NOT be coming out because we won a lawsuit against the general contractor that had worked on the remodel. Creico decided to renege on their warranty obligations on previous work performed. Instead of showing integrity and standing behind their work, Creico showed loyalty to the general contractor because of the future work Creico would receive from him.
I hired another electrician to look at the problem with the lighting. This electrician discovered that the work done by Creico was substandard and a fire hazard. I have pictures of an electrical junction box that has black scarring around it and the wood is burnt from the heat and sparks. This could have been disastrous.
Needless to say, if you want to pay a high hourly rate, for a slow paced electrician, who does a "half-a**" job, while leaving a mess behind for you to clean up, that could possible cause your house to burn down, then Creico is the company you should hire.
But if you want competent electricians, who are worth the money you pay, and do a good job, and allows you to sleep at night not worrying about whether your house will burn down, then you should AVOID CREICO.
"I am very taken back at this report. I was told by a friend that there was something bad written about my company on Angies list so I thought I would check it out. I take this pretty personal. Here's the facts; -The work was permitted and inspected -I have a strong reputation with multiple city building departments. -The last words I said to Member was "I would like to respectfully step back away from further work at your residence because of the lawsuit involving my friend. IF THERE IS A WARRANTY ISSUE I WILL BE HAPPY TO HANDLE IT, but I do not choose to start any new work" -We are fast. We work hard. This was a very custom guest home that was not being run well by the general, we were doing our best to keep both sides happy. We kept detailed accounts of hours and work performed and never had a dispute about money with the Members. As a matter of fact, after the guest house was complete, but before the lawsuit, they hired us directly to work on their main home. We felt at that point that with the stress developing between the general and client that it's best we take charge and give advance price quotes for work at the main house, which we did, they seemed to appreciate that, and they paid and still seemed happy...That's why I am surprised to be typing this right now. -We no longer work for this general and we are careful about these situations that appear good in the beginning and get messy in the end. -The rates were $75 per hour 1st technician, $69 per hour each additional technician -I am suspect about the "burnt wire", we are not perfect, and I know we are capable of mistakes, especially with the amount of changes that occurred on this job, but we take fire/life safety as the highest priority. As a matter of fact, i was originally called out to this guest home to "move a wire" for an under counter light and kitchen plug. I saw that they were remodeling the entire kitchen with upgraded appliances and increased electrical demand on a system that would likely not sustain it and not meet minimum code requirements. So I recommended the proper circuits to avoid overload, that led to the entire house being remodeled as fast as the fingers could point out what was wanted. -Did I mention that we WARRANTY ALL OUR WORK. Pretty sure this is required by the Contractors State License Board -I am not thrilled to be having to do this, I always liked Members and I can completely understand why they were upset with that project, I learned a lot of what not to do at the beginning of a project to hopefully avoid this type of stuff in the future. At first I was shocked and angered by this report, but now after stating my side I can still say that I hope all the best for them and would be happy to cover any warranty issues.
