Description of Work: Provided as built drawings of our 1,000 square foot home. Measured on Saturday morning and had the plans to us that evening.

+ -1 moreI liked the personable look of Chris' website, like a traditional craftsman who takes pride in his work. I was not disappointed. Also, his price was considerably lower than the other quotes I got. Chris was easy to schedule via email and phone, and arrived promptly. He was professional, cheerful and courteous, and worked around our family activities so as to not intrude. He thought it would take 8 hours but he finished in about 6. He took some extra measurements of our attic without charging us. We gave him a check when he was done. A couple of days after his visit, he said he had found a discrepancy in his measurements, and asked if he could return to check something in the back yard. We left the gate unlocked and he came and got what he needed while we were out. I appreciated his thoroughness and attention to detail. After a couple of days more, he emailed me the autocad .dwg file, which I forwarded to our architect, as well as a few sizes of PDF files which we printed out at home for our own planning. Our architect was perfectly satisfied with his work. I would not hesitate to recommend Chris to anyone. He has offices in West Los Angeles and in Ojai, so he seems to cover a fair amount of territory. Note: His work hours are limited slightly in that the outdoor measurements are best taken by laser when the sun is low or down.
Description of Work: Chris created as-builts to help us prepare for a remodel. He measured all the existing structural elements and created a floor plan (including detached garage), Exterior Elevations and Roof Plans, and an overall plot plan. He uses a laser for measurement, and then creates the drawings on his computer afterward. He says that the latest automated software doesn't provide the precision that this method does. The end result delivered is an appropriately layered AutoCAD 2010 .dwg file along with a PDF for our own use. Our architect will be able to use the as-built AutoCAD file as the basis for whatever design and construction drawings he needs to provide for the City and the contractor.
