Tile Tech performed the installation of $8000 of Italian 2’ x 2’ tile we independently purchased in a brand new elevated sun room. Their contract included provision of all installation materials (excluding tile purchased by us), including a vapor barrier, cement board on top of sunroom plywood subfloor, grout, and sealant for the outdoor patio section. They were very responsive to our initial inquiries and very timely with a quotation response (as opposed to several other installers). We looked at 5 or more installers, and were impressed that they had the best understanding of the job and best communication with us, and were one of the more reasonable bids. The owner, Joe, personally did the estimate and checked in regularly during the installation. Their contract for installation was $7252. Installation went very well. Andrew, crew chief, spent significant time figuring out how to best lay out the tile to capture both our desires with respect to tile/grout line ‘flow’ from the windows into the room, as well as their own quality requirement that the tile/grout lines also flow continuously across three room areas. The installation project was very complex because we had an outdoor upper covered patio, and indoor covered sunroom at the same level, and a lower interior level two steps down. Both interior levels had openings from adjacent rooms in the house. Layout of the lower room was also not at all square, with angled walls and two sets of stairs on angles. Lastly, tiles were about as big as they come at 2 foot by 2 foot, which another installer said is the most difficult and wanted a surcharge for (Tile Tech had no extra cost for the larger more difficult tile). Lastly, they were very accommodating and listened well. Every time we asked for some specific detail or had a concern it was not a problem (specifically we were never presented with change orders or extra costs). Hence we strongly recommend them. If you have a really big job, Tile Tech has permission with advance notice and coordination to show this job to interested clients. Joe and Linda
