Went  as expected with an Angie's list provider.  Also removed the A/C side panels and washed/cleaned where a DIY would think  of .  A+     Will use Kelly again for the furnace checkup.

Kelly Air is by far the best AC/Heat and electrical contractor we have ever had or ever heard of. He even fixed the heater on my spa and did it for a great price! Kelly goes above and beyond when it comes to service, price, honesty, professionalism and courtesy.
We recommend him highly!
Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"[member name removed]'s AC system had no refrigerant when I arrived. He had made a repair to the line set after discovering that a nail holding chair railing had punched one line. I proceed to carefully pressure test the system and found no leaks, no loss of pressure. The condenser needed a good clean up and then proceeded to evacuate and charge the system. Upon start up I found the control voltage jumper was missing at the thermostat which prevented A/C operation. I made quick wiring repair and started up system, topped off the charge to mfr. specification and tested performance. Cooling in [member name removed]'s home was restored just in time for the next heat wave we had."

I called Kelly at about 2pm, desperate to have our air conditioning fixed. Usually I wouldn't be as worried about the timeline of getting this fixed but there were two factors: 1.) My father, just home from a 3-month hospital stay, would need to stay as comfortable as possible. 2.) It was a very hot day and was already 83 inside. I had called a few other providers and it would be at least a week and a 1/2 until they would schedule me.

Kelly was more than accommodating and said he'd be by around 4:30pm, the same day! He texted at 4:28pm with an ETA. Very thoughtful. He arrived prepared, friendly and professional. Went right to work and was willing to answer any questions I had. He had both the parts we needed---replaced them, tested them and Boom! He was done!

I will be calling him for any future work and would recommend him to my friends!

Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"On arrival to [Member name]'s home on a hot afternoon I noted the inside temperature was very warm. The A/C condenser fan had stopped running as reported. I checked the usual electrical components, circuits and found the run capacitor had failed (not uncommon) and as a result one of two line voltage fuses had opened. I quickly replaced the capacitor and fuse and re-started the A/C system. Temperature checks proved the system charge was still adequate for good cooling performance, no further repairs were needed. Cooling was restored that afternoon."

We know enough about air conditioning systems to be able to ask the right questions of a prospective contractor. We found that Kelly really knows his stuff and was able to provide us several good options to consider as to equipment at what we considered to be fair prices.
When we contracted with Kelly we were always kept informed as to when and what work would be done in a specific time frame. Kelly met his commitments in all respects and did a great job of installing the systems. He particularly took the time to make sure there were no leaks in the custom refrigerant lines which would result in future service calls and costs.
The installations were done neatly with minimal disruption to the residents. We particularly appreciate the fact that he was careful in working inside the apartments not to damage any of the interior surfaces. When completed the entire work area was left in a clean condition.
We highly recommend Kelly Air and will be using his services again on a more complex job with multiple zones being served by a variable speed (inverter) compressor system in order to achieve high efficiency and comfort level.

The fan stopped turning. We thought we were going to have to replace the air conditioner. Kelly came out quickly and checked everything out. He is amazing! Not only did he repair the conditioner quickly but also gave us a great price fixing it. Our vintage air conditioner should see at least ten more years of life.
Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"The vintage air conditioner [Member Name Removed] refers to was made long ago by Kitchen Aid. The condenser fan motor was grounded. We changed out the fan motor and run capacitor, reused the existing prop and got the A/C operating again the same afternoon the parts were picked out. Kelly Air & Heating works on vintage equipment, no problem. The condenser coil was still in good condition and compressor motor windings checked out good! Repairing her old equipment for a reasonable price was best decision."

He did excellent work.  He corrected problems other ac companies had ignored. He found ducts that were disconnected and feeding ac air into the attic space, a total waste of ac and money. He reconnected all ducts properly and rechecked all vents for proper air flow. He tested the ac temperatures from vents and recharged the coolant to provide excellent ac quality throughout our house.  He immediately found the problem with the ac unit that had resulted in water dripping onto the ceiling and down onto the hardwood floor in our kitchen.  The condensation pan had overflowed to send a lot of water onto our hardwood floor. He installed a new coil with a new condensation pan that is tilted toward the outflow to insure water exits through the proper drain and does not build up to overflow.  He very carefully and thoroughly tested the performance of the new equipment and water drain connections.  He was very reasonable in price, less than other bids by a lot.  He is very knowledgeable and does excellent work. We are delighted with our ac that now works well to cool our house without wasting ac and money because ducts are not properly secured and connected.  We know the ac unit and drains are properly installed to prevent any further water damage, and we are grateful for the careful and high quality work Kelly provided to us.  We are extremely happy that we hired Kelly .

Our heater went out a few days before Christmas.  We found that Kelly had Sat hours.  We called on Sat morning, we were going out of town that afternoon but hoped we could set something up for the following Mon.  He said he'd be happy to come on Sun and check it out.  He was prompt on Sun morning, diagnosed the problem and said he could come back on Mon evening with the needed part.  He returned as promised on Mon and completed the job.  A pleasure to work with and a fair price.

"The repair work was completed on Monday afternoon after I picked up the correct igniter module at the parts house. I replaced her dirty air filter and cleaned the blower motor air vents to ensure the motor will continue to run normally. Final testing proved the furnace is operating again at peak efficiency."

He did a great job at a very fair and reasonable price (appreciably less than other contractors). The job turned out to be a bit more labor intensive than he initially believed, but he followed through and completed both jobs. I would definitely use him again.
Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"Completed the demo on two old gravity wall furnaces after coordinating with Mr [removed member name] for availability of access with the tenants. Installation of the first new gravity furnace was complicated when he made the suggestion to purchase from Home Depot at a more competitive price. I compared the HD price w/ my usual wholesaler supply and HD did look good - initially!!!!! Caution - Never buy a heating appliance from Home Depot if you suspect the carton may have been opened. What made this job complicated was that HD sold me a new furnace that was a return and repackaged it in THE WRONG CARTON. After installation, during testing I can't get the pilot to stay lit. Why? The furnace is set-up for LP gas, Carton is labeled "Natural Gas" - So I actually installed three furnaces during the course of this job - Thanks Home Depot! The install included rear outlet heating grilles which the tenants really liked since they are now getting heat on both sides of the wall furnaces."

I rarely write reviews however Kelly's service, work, and ethical practices are worthy of mentioning and writing one for.
 After
having it diagnosed and bid by another air conditioning company that we
used to use I called Kelly after finding him here on Angie's list. Not
only was he able to do the job at half of what we were quoted, he showed
us exactly what the problem was and came back several times after the
other contractors were done on time and got it done right.
I can highly recommend him and he just earned our future business.

Kelly had to go to Home Depot for a part and he asked if I needed anything else there that he could pick up for me. I was delighted because I needed something from Home Depot for weeks but haven't been well enough to go. So he did my errand for me. Kelly is very kind and thoughtful and very good with animals. He took the time to talk to and pet my curious dog. Kelly put in my air conditioning about 4 years ago and he replaced my air ducts about 2 years ago. He is honest, competent and very fairly priced. I can leave him alone in my home and know he's very trustworthy. He's an upstanding citizen and I highly recommend him. You will not be sorry. Plus you'll save a lot of money using him.

Kelly came over and did a thorough evaluation of the house and gave us our initial estimate, which included replacing the furnace due to it having too small of a blower to handle the necessary airflow for cooling.  Kelly started the project, and in the course of the work notified us that he had discovered the blower in our furnace was an upgraded part, and actually had sufficient airflow to handle the cooling, saving us the cost of replacing the furnace.  Kelly was flexible with his schedule (we actually took a 3 week vacation about 5 days into the project), and when we returned he simply continued where he left off.  The project took about twice as many work days as originally quoted (mostly due to the heat in the attic preventing working during the hot part of the day), but came in under budget.  Kelly was extremely professional, and did a good job of cleaning up his mess (and preventing mess when working in the inside of the house).  The finished installation looks clean, professional, and works great.  I would recommend Kelly to anybody looking for heating and cooling solutions.
Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"Operational test of the new A/C system confirmed the existing furnace blower motor is adequate for the system requirements, saving this customer the cost of a new furnace. The return air intake was moved from carpet level to top of wall for much improved system performance, using hollow wall chase. Fallbrook, CA is a climate zone 10 area, required better insulation, therefore Kelly Air & Heating installed R6 insulated ductwork and fittings throughout. All ductwork is suspended from roof joists (not laying across attic) to gain maximum benefit from the R6 ratinng. A new return air duct and duct fan moves warmer air in the computer /TV room back to the system return air grille for improved cooling efficiency. All ductwork meets the California Title24 leakage restrictions."

Kelly is great--he's licensed in this and very reasonable priced. I had mickey mouse duct work in the atic and he redid it and brought it up to date. It had been leaking air in many spots. He is trustworthy and I highly recommend him. Please note his business named has changed to KELLY HEATING AND AIR. Still the same man with an easier to remember business name! I ;have used him before and will always use him.
Response from Kelly Air & Heating
"The new name is actually Kelly Air & Heating. Customer's attic ductwork was very abused by earlier electrical & building contractors during remodel etc. Duct joints were broken, old duct tape wrapping had failed, some ductwork was crushed. Utility bills were excessive for a single story dwelling of 1,650 sq. ft. Kelly Air & Heating installed new Alum-A-Flex semi-rigid ductwork, replacing thirty feet of existing old pipe. Additional insulating and air leak sealing work was completed at the air plenum (above customer's furnace/ A/C coil). The original glass insulation was almost non-existant and many dollars worth of cooling Btu(s) were just transfering to the hot air in the attic space. Air regster boxes were vacuumed out to asure customer that all glass fibers, dust, debris would not be carried out into her home interior with the restored air distribution system completed. A new room air duct was added from the pleum since customer had converted a spare room (original garage) to her workshop /office space. A value added item suggested was the install of a nice wood casing all around the hallway hatch (attic access) and new, textured drywall hatch door, replacing the old dog-eared, chippedi hatch door. Customer readily agreed and is very pleased w/ new look. Utility bills (especially summer) have been greatly reduced with the ductwork upgrades installed."
