GDI Garage Doors

Warning, do not use this company! They lie on their website saying they?re the local garage door experts and they are a national company. They scheduled a time to come over to my house and then told me that they didn?t service my area after I waited a half a day for them to show up. They were very unapologetic and seemed to not care at all. All they are is a lead generator service. They will take in your information. They?ll call a local person And they?ll keep the difference of what the local person would charge you reverse what you paid. It?s a total scam and a racket.

Jake didn?t just do the basics?he went above and beyond to make sure my garage doors were in top condition and running smoothly. SHOULD BE ZERO! gdi garage door scammers - do not do business with this company, robs people instead of earning it honestly!!! a bunch of idiots, in particular kyle, takes advantage of people. as a veteran, it displeases me to see pieces of *&^$ that make up prices. gdi, what kyle did was ruin your business, do not deal with low lifes like gdi? kyle, you got me for $1,614 - a couple of garage door hinges and 1.5 hours of work, but i am going to love give out this wonderful news that you are a piece of work, dummy. your company will loose business because of your one time opportunity to rip off a veteran. They scamed me into services that were not needed. This company is known for over charging and scaming customers into unneeded services by the State Licensing Board. That's why they have so many names used in the passed. I am surprised Angie has them on the list of contractors. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

Bait and switch. Add $99. To replace rubber seal. when installer. Arrived immediately indicated price $200 additional cost for metal strip part rubber seal has to go into. When I said no thank you they lowered to $100. Really shady. Wish the AD was more honest. I.e. Possible additional part will be needed. At that point I ageed to the extra $100 extortion. Then install needed my assistance as this is two man job. They sent 1 man. Install was poor. Part of rubber not fitting in metal guide. Installer advised that's the best they could do. Avoid this company. I not sure to blame installer or company. Possibly both complicant.

It was a bait and switch. Purchased the deal to replace the stripping and then the technician showed up, said that I needed to purchase a new metal strip to hold the stripping (apparently current strip wasn't "compatible). Charged extra labor too. So an item that was supposed to be $99 turned into a $400 endeavor. When I called the company, they said a manager would call me back to work through it. Never happened. Will never use them again or recommend them.

My son and wife were charged $1187 for 2 springs a tune up and a cable. This is with a Military discount. This owner should be in jail for theft ! He saw 2 young people who did not know better and took advantage of them. After they left and I found out about it I called them and asked for the EXACT service that was preformed and was quoted $224 ! Because I sounded like I knew what I was doing ! When the door STILL didn't work right and came back out they wanted ANOTHER $200 to adjust TWO screws ! Don't EVER, EVER use these thieves ! I'm shocked they are on Angie's list

First visit: Doug did not have the right size. He said he'll order the right size and will come back on Tuesday, 3/28. Second visit: A different man came, told me that he does not have the right size weather stripping. After calls to the main office, Doug came later to apologize and wrote up a receipt for the next date, 4/6/17, that he will come back to do the work. He also said that because the stripping is wider, I will have to pay an extra $57.94 (parts and surcharge). 4/6/17: No show. I called. He said that he usually off on Thursdays. He said he can come on 4/11/17. 4/11/17: No show. I called his phone and left a message. No response. I called the office and was told he can do the job on Friday, 4/14/17. 4/14/17: Doug came to do the installation. After an hour, he said that he will need to come back as the stripping is about an foot short. 4/17/17: I called main office to cancel the job.

It went well. It seemed like the additional work was costly, but I felt like since they were already here I went with it. I think they were fairly priced on their additional work.
