Uptown Body and Fender is the best! I mean they have the best service of any type of service company I have ever utilized. Let me start with the basics before moving to the over the top part. Months ago, my car mirror was sideswiped while I was parked on my street. I was annoyed and worried about how much the repair would cost, so I just used clear packing tape to hold it together. This worked remarkably well, except I could not wash my car. Eventually, I decided this had gone on long enough, so I found Uptown here on Angie's List. I expected I might pay $300-$350. The initial estimate I got from Steve was just under $500. I think he saw the shock on my face because he immediately suggested he could check on the price for used parts. The revised estimate was for $217! I couldn't believe it. The repair loowas offered ks perfect. Now, for the over the top part. Before Steve started my estimate, he offered to me coffee, but not just brewed coffee. He took three minutes and made me a free latte right then and there, in the amazing designer metal office instead their gorgeous red brick building. I another latte the second time I came to drop off my vehicle when the parts arrived. And finally when I picked up my vehicle, my receipt was handed to me with a madeleine cookie. It's always impressive to me when a business is so generous and not focused on grabbing every cent of profit that they can. I highly recommend Uptown Body and Fender.

They're a great place. It seemed to take a long time before the work was done. The quality of their service was excellent. They should have faster turnaround time.

They worked really well with me and did a wonderful job on the repair. Its a woman owned and run company and they were very professional. They were punctual and I would use them again.

Uptown was recommended to me by my insurance carrier.  The first time I went was about eight months for repairs to the left front of our 2007 car.  I was impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the owner.  I was very happy to deal with a repair company that is owned and operated by a woman.  Uptown made the arrangements for my rental.  I dropped the car off on Monday and was pleasantly surprised to have the rental car at the shop waiting for me.  The rental car agent was there to
take care of the paperwork.  I was told by Uptown that they would handle all contact with the insurance company and would notify me when my car was finished.  They expected to have it finished by Friday.  As it turned out, it took almost two weeks
because they were sent the wrong part three different time.  Each time they called to explain the delay.  They were wonderful through this whole process.  I was able to leave the rental car with them when I picked up my car.  The work they did was excellent and the car looked like there had never been any damage.  They also detailed the car inside and out so it was cleaner than when I brought it in.  GREAT SERVICE!
This past Monday I took my 2014 car in for repairs to the rear fender.  Again, the rental car was at the shop for me.  I was concerned that new parts would be an issue.  As with most insurance companies, they require that the repair parts are refurbished parts.  Uptown received the refurbished fender and it did not fit correctly.  They dealt with the insurance company and were able to upgrade to a new fender.  I was expecting the car to be ready on Friday (today) but I received a call from them and it was ready on Wednesday!  I picked it up yesterday morning and it was perfect.  Again, you could not tell that there had ever been any damage, it was detailed inside and out and they left a small gift and a thank you note in the car.  Because of the drought I do not get it washed very often so it was wonderful to have it fully detailed when I picked it up.
I can't say enough good things about Uptown and I highly recommend them as the go-to place for your car repairs!

The only hiccup was that the wrong part was shipped to them three time so it took longer to get the car fixed.  They didn't call us to advise us I had advise us of the delay so we had to call them to see what was going on because the car rental agency was asking why we hadn't turned in the rental car.  Other than that, everything went very smoothly and they did an excellent repair job.

Everything by the book.  Excellent results.  When I found some imperfections year after my first visit, they compensated on the price of further work.  First class business.  The are a little pricey, but it's top shelf, so you expect that.  My first visit, I did a walk through with an old world master, who diagnosed the problems and solutions with rust and dents.  Never seen anyone like him.

Mine was a very small job & they fit me into their schedule right that day, so I walked around the neighborhood for a couple of hours. Staff were very courteous & knew their work. Much of the scrape was buffed away while they asked about how the scrape happened. The touch up paint was done perfectly but I was hoping for more -- just my wish but that was really not possible unless I wanted to re-paint the entire door, willing to pay much more & leave it a few days. Overall, I'm very satisfied (my 2nd job with them in about 10 years).

They do excellent work. I will recommend them hands down. I tell everybody to go there. You don't get ripped off with the pricing. They are very professional. You go in, you get your estimate and they tell you when they can fix your car and drop it off. The office is very clean and modern looking. The staff is very professional, they call you to tell you when you can get your car. They not only fix your car, they wash your car and take care of it. They even give you a thank you gift and a thank you note.

It went fine.  Nice waiting room which is important, since they weren't quite on time with the initial interview or the car being ready.  It wasn't out of line, however.  We really liked their friendliness.  What was most important was that we had a previous estimate over $2000., but Uptown discussed options and thus we had a very satisfying result without the need for perfection, which would have been unnecessary.  The car looks great.  We discovered that the shop is owned by a woman, a real plus for us in a "man's field."

We use Uptown Body for all our auto body work and have for the past 5+ years.  Giovanna and her crew are professional, and go that extra mile to make sure you are well cared for.  They have a Hertz Rental Care associate and cars, on their premises, for customer convenience.  You never need to go to a rental car agency to pick up or return their car while yours is being worked on.  We have found, without exception, that the body and paint work, attention to detail and excellent customer service provided at Uptown is superior to any other we have used over the years.

The free estimate was reasonable, the representative went out of his way to call around and get me a used version of the part I needed, which looked and worked fine. The office people were very nice, and helped me feel comfortable, which I appreciated as a lady in an automotive repair shop situation for the first time (just married into my first car ownership experience a month ago). I recommend this company unreservedly!

The original estimate was increased by $100.00 after inspection and I was informed by phone. The work was performed on time and beautifuly completed. The entire process was, if not a pleasure financially, a pleasant experience. Pickup on a Saturday was arranged via email as I was traveling and made possible because the premises were open unusually on the weekend for a community charity event. There was a minor discrepancy between the final invoice and the original modified estimate. When I pointed this out I was charged the original amount with no fuss. Overall a very good experience and a company that gives back to the Oakland and Berkeley communities. Impressed.

They were courteous, thorough, and did clean work.  They were professionals.  They gave us a free cup of coffee and sat down and talked to us about the incident to get information.  They were very nice and didn't rush us out of there.  The mechanic came out and talked to me about 30 minutes explaining what would need to be done.  They called when they discovered any additional charges.  They explained why it was so expensive and that there was internal damage which added to the cost.  They are also affiliated with AAA, so they give discounts to members.

After I called, they came by to take a look at the damage to my car, gave me an estimate and time.  I drove my car to their place of work at appointed time, they gave me a ride to a shopping center where I stayed two or three hours. When they were done they picked me up and drove me to my car.  I was pleased with their promptness and my car looked brand new again.

They did an excellent job and matched the color perfectly. When you come in, they sit you down and give you a cappuccino. They're also very echo friendly. It's the only shop in the world that I would actually consider eating off of the floor, the place is immaculate. I have also never seen a place where the people are more happy to work. It's an incredible place. They even call your insurance company and do all of the stuff, so you don't have to do it. They also handle the car rental for you, they have cars right there for you to use when you drop off your car.

i needed a specific job done that no one's been able to help me with.  had gone to 4 other places.  since i'd used uptown body and fender several years ago and was happy with their service, i tried them. it turns out they would not be able to help me, but they recommended another shop that might do the specified service and i went to them and they were able to help me. thank you to the great people at uptown.  they're always helpful, professional and personable!  i highly recommend them.

I did only a cursory bit of research on-line before calling Uptown. What I found was a marvelous little gem. When I pulled in to get the estimate, the area was so clean you could eat off their floors. Every time I went I was treated well -- and offered a cappucino (they do make good coffee!). The work was perfect -- and they deserve all the accolades they receive.

Uptown Body made the experience a breeze. I'm completely happy with my dealings with them. I was rear-ended in a 5-car pile-up. Amazingly, only the rear bumper and impact absorbers were damaged. I took the car to Uptown. They gave me an estimate very quickly. When I took the car in for the work, they handled the paperwork quickly and got me on my way in a minimum of time. The have a car rental agency that comes on site in the morning, which saved me quite a lot of time (plus I dropped the rental back at Uptown when I picked up my car). The work was completed 2 days later. The car was clean when I picked it up. The bumper looks fantastic: it fits beautifully. You'd never know it had been replaced. Uptown also worked with my insurance company as needed. Note: the total bill was $1100. My cost was only my $500 deductible. Uptown's facility is spotless and spacious. Every employee is nice and knowledgeable. The answered my questions clearly and completely. Giovanna (the owner) runs a fantastic operation. I will not hesitate to use them again, and have recommended them to several friends.

They are clean and courteous. They came highly recommended.

The mechanic is excellent. He is very responsible and does a good job. The car could be driven till the auto center and so he didn?t have to tow it. He accommodates you according to your time. He was responsive and punctual. He finished the job when he said he would finish it. I would use his services in the future too.
