Tyrone Perry Landscaping

We had a blank slate of a backyard and didn't know where to start. Tyrone is a true professional and a dream to work with. The ensemble of plants/trees and materials that he put together has made a wonderful oasis and extension of the house that we couldn't have dreamed of ourselves.

Job went really well, especially considering all the rain we had. Work began after Thanksgiving and was completed by the end of January in between storms. The hardscaping in the back especially turned out very nice, as did the new patio done with concrete pavers and recycled brick. Tyrone brought artist sensibility to the project and picked out plantings that would work with existing trees in the yards, and with the new trellis he designed for the back. He and his crew are easy to work with, and Tyrone is responsive to concerns, redesign requests, and followup visits to the site

Overall, it was difficult for me and couldn't wait for it to be over. Often, he calmly and patiently listened to me and then ignored my request. While I have a B.S. in Horticulture, as a newcomer to California from Georgia, I didn't know much about native plants and relied on Tyrone. That was a mistake. So I'm left with some plants in the proper place for their growth, other plants that are not in proper place and if have not already died, will. There is a part of the yard that looks unfinished. I''m sorry I did not ask to see his work of native plant gardens. And I take responsibility for that.

Tyrone is meticulous in providing detailed expense and time budgets for each phase of the work and in sticking to the budgets. All the projects finished on time and within budget. Tyrone was also very considerate in doing the work, some of which was somewhat disruptive. We always got advance notice of the disruptive parts and could plan around them. Tyrone's crews were very polite and worked soundlessly without loud banter or music. Sometimes literally we did not know they were there. They worked well with our dogs, who can be somewhat exuberant. We continue to use Tyrone for all landscaping.
